It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that a Bedouin came to the service of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O son of Banu Abdul Muttalib! Peace be upon you. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "And peace be upon you." Then this Bedouin said that I am from your maternal relatives, that is, from the tribe of Banu Sa'id (this tribe was the foster maternal uncles of the Prophet), and I am a messenger sent by my people. I am about to make you swear an oath and ask a question, and only you (peace and blessings be upon him) must answer this oath and question. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O brother of Banu Sa'id, ask your question yourself. (That is, due to kinship, the Prophet made no distinction between himself and that person.) He said: Indeed, we have found in your letter (written message), and your messenger has commanded us, that we should perform Hajj of the House of Allah. Did you (peace and blessings be upon him) command us to do this? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes.
