في الرجل يحلف على الطعامIf someone swears an oath over food
Hadith 13043
١٣٠٤٣ - حدثنا جعفر (بن) (١) ابن عون عن أبي العميس عن قيس بن مسلم عن طارق بن شهاب قال: كان رجل له أعنز، فحلف أن لا يشرب من ألبانها، فلما رأت امرأته ذلك حلفت أن لا تشرب من ألبانها، (فخلوا) (٢) الأعنز وضيعوهن، فأتى عبد اللَّه فذكر (له ذلك) (٣) فقال: إنما ذا من الشيطان، ارجعا إلى أحسن ما كنتما عليه واشربا (٤).
It is narrated from Hazrat Tariq bin Shihab that a man had some goats and he swore that he would not drink their milk. When his wife saw this, she also swore that she would not drink their milk. As a result, the goats dried up and were ruined. Then he went to Hazrat Abdullah and mentioned this to him. He said, "This is from Satan. Both of you should return to that which is best for you both, and then drink its milk."
