من قال: أقسم، أو أقسم بالله، ولله علي نذر سواءIf someone says: 'I was made to swear, I swear by Allah, or I vow', all these are the same
Hadith 12729
١٢٧٢٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا معتمر عن ليث عن أبي (معشر) (١) عن يزيد (عن) (٢) إبراهيم التيمي قال: إذا قال الرجل: للَّه عليَّ أو (عليَّ للَّه) (٣) حجة فسواء، وإذا قال: للَّه عليّ نذر، أو عليّ نذر فسواء. وإذا قال: أقسمت باللَّه أو أقسم (سواء) (٤).
Ibrahim al-Taimi says that when a person says, "By Allah, it is binding upon me," or "Hajj is obligatory upon me," both are the same. And when he says, "For Allah, I have made a vow upon myself," or "A vow is upon me," both are the same. And when he says, "I have sworn by the name of Allah," or "I swear by the name of Allah," it is the same.
