حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمِ النَّاسَ لَا يَرْحَمُهُ اللهُ»
Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever does not show mercy to people, Allah does not show mercy to him."
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، وَمَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمِ النَّاسَ لَا يَرْحَمُهُ اللهُ»
Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever does not show mercy to people, Allah does not show mercy to him."
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا يَرْحَمُ اللهُ مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمُ النَّاسَ»
Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah does not show mercy to the one who does not show mercy to people."
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ النَّسَائِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ، ثنا مُصْعَبُ بْنُ الْمِقْدَامِ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ الطَّائِيِّ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمِ النَّاسَ لَا يَرْحَمُهُ اللهُ»
Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever does not show mercy to people, Allah does not show mercy to him."

Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever does not show mercy to people, Allah does not show mercy to him."
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو مَسْعُودٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْفُرَاتِ، ثنا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، وَيَعْلَى بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمِ النَّاسَ لَا يَرْحَمُهُ اللهُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever does not show mercy to people, Allah does not show mercy to him."

Qays bin Abi Hazim said: I heard Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) say: "I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on establishing prayer, paying zakah, and sincere goodwill toward every Muslim."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ صَدَقَةَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ خُلِّي الْحِمْصِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا سَلَمَةُ الْعَوْصِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ وَهُوَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: «بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى إِقَامِ الصَّلَاةِ، وَإِيتَاءِ الزَّكَاةِ، وَالنُّصْحِ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ»
Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on establishing prayer, paying zakah, and sincere goodwill toward every Muslim."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا جُمْهُورُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، حَدَّثَنِي إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُجَالِدٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: «بَايَعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى السَّمْعِ وَالطَّاعَةِ» ،
Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I pledged allegiance to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on hearing and obeying."
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو مَسْعُودٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْفُرَاتِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، وَيَعْلَى بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ
Likewise, a similar hadith is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا يَحْيَى، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَلَا تُرِيحُنِي مِنْ ذِي الْخُلَّصَةِ» ، وَكَانَ بَيْتًا فِي خَثْعَمٍ يُسَمَّى كَعْبَةَ الْيَمَانِيَةِ، فَانْطَلَقْتُ فِي سِتِّينَ وَمِئةِ فَارِسٍ مِنْ أَحْمَسَ وَكَانُوا أَصْحَابَ خَيْلٍ وَكُنْتُ لَا أَثْبُتُ عَلَى الْخَيْلِ فَضَرَبَ صَدْرِي حَتَّى رَأَيْتُ أَثَرَ أَصَابِعِهِ فِي صَدْرِي، وَقَالَ: «اللهُمَّ ثَبِّتْهُ وَاجْعَلْهُ هَادِيًا مَهْدِيًّا» ، فَانْطَلَقَ إِلَيْهَا فَكَسَرَهَا وَحَرَّقَهَا، وَبَعَثَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُخْبِرُهُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ جَرِيرٍ: وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ مَا جِئْتُكَ حَتَّى تَرَكْتُهَا كَأَنَّهَا جُمَلٌ أَجْرَبُ، فَبَارَكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى خَيْلِ أَحْمَسَ وَرِجَالِهَا خَمْسَ مَرَّاتٍ
Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Will you not relieve me of Dhu al-Khalasah?" It was an idol-house among the Khath'am tribe, called the Ka'bah of Yemen. So I set out with one hundred and sixty horsemen of Ahmas, and they were people of horses, while I could not sit firmly on a horse. He (peace and blessings be upon him) struck my chest, until I saw the mark of his (peace and blessings be upon him) fingers on my chest, and said: "O Allah, make him firm and make him one who guides and is rightly guided." Then I set out toward it (the idol-house), broke it down and burned it, and sent a messenger to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to inform him of it. Jarir's messenger said: "By the One who sent you with the truth, I did not come to you until I had left it like a mangy camel (desolate)." Upon this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed for blessing upon the horses of Ahmas and its men five times.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ الرَّمَادِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، وَمَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ، قَالَا: ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، سَمِعَ قَيْسَ بْنَ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، سَمِعَ جَرِيرًا، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَلَا تَكْفِينِي ذَا الْخُلَّصَةِ» فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي رَجُلٌ لَا أَثْبُتُ عَلَى الْخَيْلِ فَصَكَّ فِي صَدْرِي، وَقَالَ: «اللهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ هَادِيًا مَهْدِيًّا» ، قَالَ: فَخَرَجْتُ إِلَيْهَا فِي خَمْسِينَ مِنْ قَوْمِي فَحَرَّقْتُها بِالنَّارِ فَرَجَعْتُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا أَتَيْتُكَ حَتَّى تَرَكْتُهَا مِثْلَ الْجُمَلِ الْأَجْرَدِ، فَدَعَا لِأَحْمَسَ خَيْلِهَا وَرِجَالِهَا ثَلَاثًا
Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Will you not rid me of Dhu al-Khalasah?" I said: "O Messenger of Allah, I cannot sit firmly on a horse." He (peace and blessings be upon him) struck my chest and said: "O Allah, make him one who guides and is rightly guided." He said: I set out toward it (the idol-house) with fifty men of my people and burned it with fire. Then I returned to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I did not come to you until I had left it like a hairless (bare) camel." Upon this, he (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed for the horses of Ahmas and its men three times.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، ثنا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ لَا أَثْبُتُ عَلَى الْخَيْلِ، فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَضَرَبَ يَدَهُ عَلَى صَدْرِي حَتَّى رَأَيْتُ أَثَرَ يَدِهِ فِي صَدْرِي، فَقَالَ: «اللهُمَّ ثَبِّتْهُ وَاجْعَلْهُ هَادِيًا مَهْدِيًّا» ، فَمَا سَقَطْتُ عَنْ فَرَسٍ بَعْدُ
Qays bin Abi Hazim narrates from Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I could not sit firmly on a horse, so I mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) struck his hand on my chest, until I saw the mark of his (peace and blessings be upon him) hand on my chest, and said: "O Allah, make him firm and make him one who guides and is rightly guided." After that I never fell from a horse.
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا جَرِيرٌ، وَوَكِيعٌ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «يَا جَرِيرُ أَلَا تُرِيحُنِي مِنْ ذِي الْخُلَّصَةِ؟» بَيْتٍ لِخَثْعَمَ يُدْعَى كَعْبَةَ الْيَمَانِيَةِ فَنَفَرْتُ فِي خَمْسِينَ وَمِئةِ فَارِسٍ مِنْ أَحْمَسَ وَكُنْتُ لَا أَثْبُتُ عَلَى الْخَيْلِ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ، فَضَرَبَ فِي صَدْرِي حَتَّى رَأَيْتُ أَثَرَ أَصَابِعِهِ فِي صَدْرِي ثُمَّ قَالَ: «اللهُمَّ ثَبِّتْهُ وَاجْعَلْهُ هَادِيًا مَهْدِيًّا» ، فَانْطَلَقْتُ فَظَهَرَتُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَحَرَّقْتُها بِالنَّارِ فَبَعَثَ جَرِيرٌ رَجُلًا يُكْنَى أَبَا أَرْطَأَةَ بَشِيرًا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ مَا جِئْتُكَ حَتَّى رَأَيْتُهَا كَأَنَّهَا جُمَلٌ أَجْرَبُ فَبَرَّكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى خَيْلِ أَحْمَسَ وَرِجَالِ أَحْمَسَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ
Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "O Jarir, will you not relieve me of Dhu al-Khalasah?" It was an idol-house of Khath'am called the Ka'bah of Yemen. So I set out with one hundred and fifty horsemen of Ahmas, and I could not sit firmly on a horse, so I mentioned that to him (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) struck my chest, until I saw the mark of his (peace and blessings be upon him) fingers on my chest, then said: "O Allah, make him firm and make him one who guides and is rightly guided." So I set out, overcame them and burned it with fire. Then Jarir sent a man with the kunyah Abu Artah to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to give him the good news. He said: "By the One who sent you with the truth, I did not come to you until I had seen it like a mangy camel." Upon this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed for blessing upon the horses of Ahmas and the men of Ahmas three times.

Likewise, a similar hadith is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَمْ يَبْقَ مِنْ طَوَاغِيتِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ إِلَّا ذُو الْخُلَّصَةِ»
Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Of the idols of the Jahiliyyah, none remained except Dhu al-Khalasah."
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ الرَّمَادِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «يَدْخُلُ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنَ الْبَابِ رَجُلٌ مِنْ خَيْرِ ذِي يُمْنٍ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ مَسْحَةُ مَلَكٍ» ، فَدَخَلَ جَرِيرٌ
Qays bin Abi Hazim narrates from Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man will enter upon you through the door who is among the best of the people of Yemen; on his face is the radiance of an angel." Then Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) entered.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَزَّارُ، ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: " كُنْتُ بِالْيَمَنِ، وَمَعِي ذُو كَلَاعٍ وَذُو عَمْرٍو، فَأَقْبَلْتُ أُخْبِرُهُمْ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ ذُو عَمْرٍو: يَا جَرِيرُ إِنْ يَكُ صَاحِبُكَ كَمَا تَذْكُرُ، لَقَدْ أَتَى عَلَى أَجَلِهِ مُنْذُ ثَلَاثٍ، فَرَفَعَ لَنَا رَجُلٌ، فَقُلْنَا: مَا الْخَبَرُ، قَالُوا: قُبِضَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَاسْتُخْلِفَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ رَضِي اللهُ عَنْهُ وَالنَّاسُ صَالِحُونَ ثُمَّ رَجَعْنَا، فَقَالَا أَقْرِئْ صَاحِبَكَ السَّلَامَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ ذُو عَمْرٍو: يَا جَرِيرُ إِنَّكُمْ لَنْ تَزَالُوا صَالِحَينَ، مَا إِذَا هَلَكَ أَمِيرٌ، قَامَ أَمِيرٌ، فَإِذَا مَا كَانَ سُيُوفًا كُنْتُمْ مُلُوكًا تَرْضَوْنَ رِضَا الْمُلُوكِ، وَتَغْضَبُونَ غَضَبَ الْمُلُوكِ "
Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I was in Yemen, and with me were Dhu Kala' and Dhu Amr. I began telling them about the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and Dhu Amr said: "O Jarir, if your companion is as you describe, then his appointed time came three days ago." Then a man appeared before us, and we asked: "What is the news?" They said: "the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has passed away, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) has been appointed caliph, and the people are in a good state." Then we returned, and the two of them said: "Convey our greetings of salam to your companion." Then Dhu Amr said: "O Jarir, you will continue to be in a good state as long as, whenever a leader dies, another leader rises up. But when the matter comes to swords, you will become kings, pleased as kings are pleased and angered as kings are angered."
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَبُو غَسَّانَ مَالِكُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ح، وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُوسَى السُّدِّيُّ ح، وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالَوا: ثنا سَيْفُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: بَايَعْنَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى مِثْلِ مَا بَايَعَ عَلَيْهِ النِّسَاءَ: «مَنْ مَاتَ مِنَّا وَلَمْ يَأْتِ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْهُنَّ ضَمِنَ لَهُ الْجَنَّةَ، وَمَنْ مَاتَ وَقَدْ أَتَى شَيْئًا مِنْهُنَّ وَقَدْ أُقِيمَ عَلَيْهِ الْحَدُّ فَهُوَ كَفَّارَتُهُ، وَمَنْ مَاتَ مِنَّا وَأَتَى شَيْئًا مِنْهُنَّ فَسُتِرَ عَلَيْهِ فَعَلَى اللهِ حِسَابُهُ»
Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We pledged allegiance to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the same way as he (peace and blessings be upon him) had taken the pledge from the women: "Whoever of us dies without having committed any of these (sins), Paradise is guaranteed for him. Whoever dies having committed any of them and the prescribed punishment (hadd) has been carried out on him, that is his expiation. And whoever of us dies having committed any of them but it was concealed (in this world), his reckoning rests with Allah."
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، وَأَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ النَّرْسِيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْبَجَلِيِّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ أَقَامَ مَعَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَقَدْ بَرِئَتْ مِنْهُ الذِّمَّةُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah al-Bajali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever resides with the polytheists, the obligation of protection (dhimmah) is absolved from him."
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَزَّارُ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ النَّرْسِيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْأُرُزِّيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ الْقَطَّانِ، عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ بْنِ أَرْطَأَةَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «بَرِئَتِ الذِّمَّةُ مِمَّنْ أَقَامَ مَعَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فِي دِيَارِهِمْ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The obligation of protection (dhimmah) is absolved from whoever resides among the polytheists in their lands."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا مِنْجَابُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، ثنا حُصَيْنُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ سُلِبَتْ كَرِيمَتَيْهِ عَوَّضْتُهُ مِنْهُمَا الْجَنَّةَ»
Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever is deprived of his two precious ones (eyes), I will grant him Paradise in exchange for them."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدُوسِ بْنِ كَامِلٍ السِّرَاجُ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبَانَ، ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَرِيَّةً إِلَى خَثْعَمٍ فَاعْتَصَمَ نَاسٌ مِنْهُمْ بِالسُّجُودِ فَأَسْرَعَ إِلَيْهِمُ الْقَتْلَ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَمَرَ لَهُمْ بِنِصْفِ الْعَقْلِ وَقَالَ: «إِنِّي بَرِيءٌ مِنْ كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ يُقِيمُ بَيْنَ ظَهْرَانَيِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ» ، قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَلِمَ، قَالَ: «لَا تَرَاءَى نارَهُمَا»
Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a detachment (sariyyah) to Khath'am, and some of them tried to seek protection by prostrating, but (the detachment) hastily killed them. News of this reached the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he ordered half the blood money for them and said: "I am free of every Muslim who lives among the polytheists." The people said: O Messenger of Allah, why? He said: "The fires of the two should not be visible to one another (that is, they should keep apart from them)."
حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدَّلَّالُ الْكُوفِيُّ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ، ثنا صَالِحُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَيْشًا إِلَى خَثْعَمٍ فَلَمَّا غَشِيَتْهُمُ الْخَيْلُ اعْتَصَمُوا بِالصَّلَاةِ فَقُتِلَ رَجُلٌ مِنْهُمْ فَجَعَلَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نِصْفَ الْعَقْلِ بِصَلَاتِهِمْ، وَقَالَ: «إِنِّي بَرِيءٌ مِنْ كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ مَعَ مُشْرِكٍ»
Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent an army to Khath'am. When the horsemen came upon them, they tried to seek protection by praying, yet one man among them was killed. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) fixed half the blood money for them on account of their prayer, and said: "I am free of every Muslim who stays with a polytheist."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّائِغِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُقَاتِلٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي خَلَفٍ، قَالَا: ثنا حُصَيْنُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: لَمَّا بُعِثَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتَيْتُهُ لِأُبَايِعَهُ، فَقَالَ: «لِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ جِئْتَ يَا جَرِيرُ؟» قُلْتُ: جِئْتُ لِأُسْلِمَ عَلَى يَدَيْكَ، قَالَ: «فَدَعَانِي إِلَى شَهَادَةِ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَنِّي رَسُولُ اللهِ، وَتُقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ الْمَكْتُوبَةَ، وَتُؤَدِّي الزَّكَاةَ الْمَفْرُوضَةَ، وَتُؤْمِنُ بِالْقَدَرِ خَيْرِهِ وَشَرِّهِ» قَالَ: فَأَلْقَى إِلَيَّ كِسَاءَهُ ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى أَصْحَابِهِ فَقَالَ: «إِذَا جَاءَكُمْ كَرِيمُ قَوْمٍ فَأَكْرِمُوهُ» وَاللَّفْظُ لِحَدِيثِ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ
Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was sent (as a Prophet), I came to him to give him my pledge of allegiance. He said: "O Jarir, what have you come for?" I said: I have come to accept Islam at your hands. He said: Then he invited me to bear witness that there is no god worthy of worship except Allah and that he is the Messenger of Allah, to establish the obligatory prayer, to pay the obligatory zakah, and to believe in divine decree, its good and its bad. He said: Then he threw his cloak to me, and then turned to his Companions and said: "When the honoured man of a people comes to you, honour him." (This is the wording of al-Hadrami's narration.)
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّائِغِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُقَاتِلٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، ثنا حُصَيْنُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْأَحْمَسِيُّ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ إِبْلِيسَ قَدْ يَئِسَ أَنْ يُعْبَدَ فِي أَرْضِ الْعَرَبِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Satan has despaired of being worshipped in the land of the Arabs."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُطِيعٍ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي غَنِيَّةَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: دَخَلَ عُيَيْنَةُ بْنُ حِصْنٍ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعِنْدَهُ رَجُلٌ، فَاسْتَسْقَى، فَأُتِيَ بِمَاءٍ، فَسَتَرَهُ فَشَرِبَ، فَقَالَ: مَا هَذَا؟ قَالَ: «الْحَيَاءُ وَالْإِيمَانُ أُوتُوهُمَا وَمُنِعْتُمُوهُما»
Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Uyaynah bin Hisn came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and a man was with him. That (man) asked for water, so water was brought, and he drank it while concealed (behind a screen). Uyaynah asked: What is this? He said: "It is modesty and faith; they have been given it, and you have been deprived of it."
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الرَّازِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُطِيعٍ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي غَنِيَّةَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، أَنَّ عُيَيْنَةَ بْنَ حِصْنٍ دَخَلَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعِنْدَهُ عَائِشَةُ، فَقَالَ: مَنْ هَذِهِ الْجَالِسَةُ إِلَى جَانِبِكَ؟ قَالَ: «عَائِشَةُ» قَالَ: أفَلَا أَنْزَلُ لَكَ عَنْ خَيْرٍ مِنْهَا؟ يَعْنِي امْرَأَتَهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا» قَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «اخْرُجْ فَاسْتَأْذِنْ» قَالَ: إِنَّهَا يَمِينٌ عَلَيَّ أَنْ لَا أَسْتَأْذِنَ عَلَى مُضَرِيٍّ، فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ رَحِمَهَا اللهُ: مَنْ هَذَا، قَالَ: «هَذَا أَحْمَقُ مُتَّبَعٌ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) that Uyaynah bin Hisn came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) was with him. He asked: Who is this sitting beside you? He said: "Aishah." He said: Shall I not give up for you (a woman) better than her? He meant his own wife. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Go out and come back after seeking permission." He said: I have sworn an oath that I will not seek permission from any Mudari. Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Who is this? He said: "This is a fool who is followed."
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَدْعُو: «اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ دُعَاءٍ لَا يُسْمَعُ، وَقَلَبٍ لَا يَخْشَعُ، وَنَفَسٍ لَا تَشْبَعُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to make this supplication: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from a supplication that is not heard, from a heart that does not humble itself, and from a soul that is never satisfied."
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، ثنا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ يُتَزَوَّدْ فِي الدُّنْيَا يَنْفَعْهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever gathers provision (good deeds) in this world, it will benefit him in the Hereafter."
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الرَّازِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ خَلَفٍ الْعَطَّارُ، ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ بَيَانَ، وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ رَفَعَ بَصَرَهُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَقَالَ: «سُبْحَانَ اللهِ مَاذَا يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنَ الْفِتَنِ إِرْسَالَ الْقَطْرِ؟»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his gaze to the sky and said: "Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah)! What trials are being sent down upon them like falling rain?"
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي النَّضْرِ، وثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدُوسِ بْنِ كَامِلٍ السِّرَاجُ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ الْبَزَّارُ، قَالَا: ثنا خَلَفُ بْنُ تَمِيمٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْمُهَاجِرِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنَ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: «إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَيُعْطِي عَلَى الرِّفْقِ مَا لَا يُعْطِي عَلَى الْعُنْفِ»
Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, grants for gentleness what He does not grant for harshness."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي الْمَضَّاءِ الْمِصِّيصِيُّ، ثنا خَلَفُ بْنُ تَمِيمٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُهَاجِرٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنَ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَيُعْطِي عَلَى الرِّفْقِ مَا لَا يُعْطِي عَلَى الْخُرْقِ، وَإِذَا أَحَبَّ اللهُ عَبْدًا أَعْطَاهُ الرِّفْقَ، مَا مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ يُحْرَمُونَ الرِّفْقَ إِلَّا قَدْ حُرِمُوا»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, grants for gentleness what He does not grant for harshness, and when Allah loves a servant He grants him gentleness. Any household that is deprived of gentleness is deprived (of good)."
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْمَعْمَرِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ هِشَامِ بْنِ أَبِي خَيْرَةَ السَّدُوسِيُّ، ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «الْمُعْتَدِي فِي الصَّدَقَةِ كَمَانِعِهَا»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The one who transgresses in charity is like the one who withholds it."
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الْأَهْوَازِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْوَكِيعِيُّ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ النَّاسِ حَتَّى يَقُولُوا لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، فَإِذَا قَالُوهَا عَصَمُوا مِنِّي دِمَاءَهُمْ وَأَمْوَالَهُمْ إِلَّا بِحَقِّهَا، وَحِسَابُهُمْ عَلَى اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ»
Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have been commanded to fight the people until they say, 'There is no god worthy of worship except Allah.' When they say it, they have protected their lives and wealth from me, except by its right, and their reckoning rests with Allah, the Mighty and Majestic."
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَزَّارُ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ الرُّصَافِيُّ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ مِنْدَهِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ أَبِي السَّفَرِ، قَالَا: ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «اسْتَنْصِتِ النَّاسَ» ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «لَا تَرْجِعُوا بَعْدِي كُفَّارًا يَضْرِبُ بَعْضُكُمْ رِقَابَ بَعْضٍ»
Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "Make the people be silent." Then he said: "Do not become disbelievers after me, striking the necks of one another."
