Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that a man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Is Hajj obligatory every year? He replied: No, rather it is obligatory only once (in a lifetime), and after that, whoever wishes to perform voluntary Hajj may do so. If I had said that Hajj is obligatory every year, then it would have become obligatory every year.
Hadith 411
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that a woman took out her child from a howdah (a palanquin used by women for riding) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Will this child’s Hajj be valid? He replied: Yes! And you will get the reward.

Amr says: Ibn Tawus has said “Aslam.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: These miqats are for the residents of those places and also for those coming from other areas who pass through them. And for those who live within the miqat, their miqat will be from their own homes, until even the people of Makkah will assume ihram from Makkah itself.
Hadith 414
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that I applied perfume to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) before he entered into the state of Ihram and after he had exited Ihram but before performing the Tawaf (Ifadah).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that a man asked in a loud voice: O Messenger of Allah! Which clothes should a Muhrim avoid? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A Muhrim cannot wear trousers, shirts, caps (that cling to the head), or turbans, nor any cloth dyed with saffron or wars (a type of grass used for dyeing). During Ihram, use an izar (waist-wrapper), a sheet, and sandals; if sandals are not available, then wear socks after cutting them below the ankles.
Hadith 417
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) delivering a sermon, and he was saying: "Trousers are for the one who does not have an izar (waist-wrapper), and socks are for the one who does not have shoes." The narrator says: I do not know which of these two narrations is abrogating the other.

Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that we were in the state of Ihram with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). When a rider would pass by us, we would draw our cloth from behind over our faces, and that cloth would not come from the side of the cheeks. When they had passed, we would remove the cloth. She said: A woman in Ihram may wear whatever she wishes except for a veil (burqa).
Hadith 419
Lady Duba‘ah bint Zubair (may Allah be pleased with her) came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! I want to perform Hajj, can I stipulate a condition? He said: Yes! She asked: Then what should I say? He said: Say like this: «لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ مَحِلِّي مِنَ الْأَرْضِ حَيْثُ حَبَسْتَنِي» (O Allah! I am present, I am present, wherever You restrain me, I will end my state of Ihram there).

Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Lady Duba’ah bint Zubair bin Abdul Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with her). She said: I want to perform Hajj and I am ill, (so what should I do?) He said: Perform Hajj and stipulate the condition that I will come out of Ihram wherever You (O Allah) restrain me. Muhammad bin Yahya says: In our view, this hadith of Abdur Razzaq is preserved regarding the incident of Duba’ah (may Allah be pleased with her), and whoever wishes to stipulate a condition in Hajj can take evidence from this.

Hadith 423
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that I used to braid the garlands for the sacrificial animals of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) with my own two hands, then he would not avoid those things from which a person in the state of Ihram avoids. Abdur Rahman bin Qasim says: He would neither separate himself from anything nor leave anything.
Abdullah bin Haneen narrates that at the place of ‘Arj, there was a disagreement between Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas and Sayyiduna Miswar bin Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with them) regarding washing the head while in the state of Ihram. So they sent me to Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him). I went to him and found him bathing between two wooden poles fixed at a well. I greeted him, and he wrapped his cloth up to his chest. I said: Your nephew has sent me to ask how you saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) wash his head while in the state of Ihram? He said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) wash his head in such a way that he would move his hands over his head from the front to the back and from the back to the front.
Hadith 442
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had cupping done while in the state of Ihram.
Hadith 443
Nabiyah says that Umar bin Ubaidullah bin Ma'mar had pain in his eyes. When he reached the place of Rauha, the pain increased. He sent a message to Aban bin Uthman, so Aban replied that Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Tie a bandage of aloe vera (sabr) on both eyes.
Hadith 444
Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A Muhrim (one in the state of Ihram) cannot perform his own marriage, nor can he arrange the marriage of another, nor can he send a proposal of engagement.
Hadith 445
Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married me at the place of Sarif, and both of us were not in the state of ihram.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married Lady Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) while he was in the state of ihram. Amr says: I related this to Zuhri, so he said: Yazid bin Asam informed me, who is the nephew of Lady Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her), that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married her when both he and Lady Maymunah were not in the state of ihram.

Sayyiduna Ya’la ibn Umayyah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say to Sayyiduna Umar ibn Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him): I wish I could see revelation descending upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was at Ji’ranah and a cloth was providing shade over him, a few companions including Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) were with him. A man came who was wearing a cloak and had applied perfume. He asked: O Messenger of Allah! What is your opinion about a person who puts on perfume and then enters into the state of Ihram for Umrah? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked at him for a moment and remained silent. Then revelation descended upon him. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) signaled to Ya’la ibn Umayyah with his hand to come. Ya’la came and put his head (under the cloth), and saw that the face of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had turned red and he was snoring. Then the state of revelation ended, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Where is the person who just asked about Umrah? That man was sought and brought, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Wash off the perfume three times and take off the cloak, then do in Umrah what you do in Hajj.
Hadith 448
Ibn Jurayj says that Ata bin Abi Rabah considered the incident of the man with the cloak to have occurred before the Farewell Pilgrimage, and he used to say that the last action of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) is more correct. Ata told me that Safwan bin Ya'la bin Umayyah informed him that Sayyiduna Ya'la (may Allah be pleased with him) also held the same view.

Sayyiduna Ya'la (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I was with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) at Ji'ranah when a man came who was wearing a cloak and had applied perfume (khaluq). He said: O Messenger of Allah! I have entered into the state of Ihram for 'Umrah and these things (the cloak and perfume) are upon me, so what should I do? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked: What do you do in your Hajj? He said: I remove this cloak and wash off the perfume. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whatever you do in Hajj, do the same in 'Umrah.
