We know that men in Paradise will be granted Ḥūr al-ʿĪn (heavenly maidens).
What about women—what will they receive in Paradise?
Will they also have husbands?
Allah ﷻ has mentioned in the Qur’an regarding the blessings of Paradise:
[Surah Fuṣṣilat: 31–32]
“Therein you will have whatever your souls desire, and whatever you ask for—as hospitality from the Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
Also:
[Surah Az-Zukhruf: 71]
“Therein is whatever the souls desire and that which gives delight to the eyes, and you will abide therein forever.”
The desire for companionship and marriage is a natural human inclination, and it will be fulfilled in Paradise for both men and women.
[Surah Ghāfir: 8]
“Our Lord, admit them into Gardens of Eternity which You have promised them, and [also admit] those who were righteous from among their fathers, their spouses, and their offspring.”
✔ If a woman was married to more than one husband in the world (one after another), then she will choose between them in the Hereafter.
✔ If she never married, then Allah will marry her to a righteous man in Paradise who will bring her joy and contentment.
Some may ask:
Why does the Qur’an mention Ḥūr al-ʿĪn for men but not mention husbands for women?
The answer:
Paradise and its rewards are not exclusive to men. The blessings are for both men and women, including the joy of companionship and marriage.

❖ Question:
We know that men in Paradise will be granted Ḥūr al-ʿĪn (heavenly maidens).
What about women—what will they receive in Paradise?
Will they also have husbands?
❖ Answer:
Allah ﷻ has mentioned in the Qur’an regarding the blessings of Paradise:
[Surah Fuṣṣilat: 31–32]
“Therein you will have whatever your souls desire, and whatever you ask for—as hospitality from the Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
Also:
[Surah Az-Zukhruf: 71]
“Therein is whatever the souls desire and that which gives delight to the eyes, and you will abide therein forever.”
❖ Key Point:
The desire for companionship and marriage is a natural human inclination, and it will be fulfilled in Paradise for both men and women.
- Women of Paradise will be married to the righteous men among the people of Paradise.
- If a woman was married in the world, she will be reunited in Jannah with her righteous husband, as Allah ﷻ says:
[Surah Ghāfir: 8]
“Our Lord, admit them into Gardens of Eternity which You have promised them, and [also admit] those who were righteous from among their fathers, their spouses, and their offspring.”
❖ Special Cases:
✔ If a woman was married to more than one husband in the world (one after another), then she will choose between them in the Hereafter.
✔ If she never married, then Allah will marry her to a righteous man in Paradise who will bring her joy and contentment.
❖ A Common Question:
Some may ask:
Why does the Qur’an mention Ḥūr al-ʿĪn for men but not mention husbands for women?
The answer:
- The Qur’an mentions wives because desire and pursuit typically originate from the man's side.
- However, this does not negate that women too will enjoy the fullness of marital blessings in Paradise.
Paradise and its rewards are not exclusive to men. The blessings are for both men and women, including the joy of companionship and marriage.
