Question:
Is it necessary that all partners in the sacrifice of a cow or camel must be people of true monotheistic belief, or can the sacrifice be done jointly with other sects (Barelvi, Deobandi)?

Answer:
If the person performing the slaughter is a true believer Muslim, then among the seven parts of the cow, the part owned by the true believer is valid and accepted. However, if any of the co-owners is a heretic, for example, a Deobandi or Barelvi, then the sacrifice of the other co-owners will still be valid. Nevertheless, it is best that all co-owners be sought from true believer Muslims. The general meaning of the verse: ﴿كُلُّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ رَهِينَةٌ﴾ is that the sacrifice of a true believer is accepted, and that of a heretic is rejected.
According to Hanafi jurisprudence, if even one of the seven co-owners is a Christian or a person whose sole intention is to eat the meat, then the sacrifice of all co-owners is invalid. See Al-Bidayah

. Whereas the Shafi'is oppose this view.

. The Hanafi position is without evidence.
