❀ Sharʿī Clarification: Which Ḥajj Is Superior – Tamattuʿ, Qirān, or Ifrād? ❀
Among Ḥajj Tamattuʿ, Ḥajj Ifrād, and Ḥajj Qirān, which is superior in Islām?
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu wa-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ammā baʿd!
◈ If a person is taking hady (sacrificial animal) along with him, then Ḥajj Qirān is superior.
◈ For others — i.e., those not carrying a sacrificial animal — Ḥajj Tamattuʿ (in its specific sense) is superior.
◈ It should be noted that the word “superior” (afḍal) here does not mean in contrast to wājib. Rather, it also includes what is obligatory.
