Where is the grave of the killer of Sayyidunā ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb رضي الله عنه?
Answer:
The killer of Sayyidunā ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb رضي الله عنه was Abū Luʾluʾah Fayrūz the Magian. The exact location of his grave is known only to Allah. However, due to their enmity towards ʿUmar رضي الله عنه, the Rāfiḍah in Iran have constructed a shrine in his name and show reverence to it. They refer to him as “Bābā Shujāʿ al-Dīn” and every year on the 9th of Rabīʿ al-Awwal, they celebrate what they call the “Eid of Bābā Shujāʿ al-Dīn.”
✿ ʿAllāmah Kūrānī al-Ḥanafī رحمه الله (d. 893H) stated:
إن فى بلاد العجم بلدا يسمى كاشان، فيه غلاة الروافض، لهم مزار عظيم معظم، يقولون : إنه قبر أبى لؤلؤة قاتل عمر .
“In the land of Persia (Iran), there is a city called Kāshān, where extremist Rāfiḍah live. There they have built a large, revered shrine, and they claim that it is the grave of Abū Luʾluʾah, the killer of ʿUmar.”

✿ The Shīʿī scholar Mullā Bāqir al-Majlisī (d. 1111H) wrote:
قال جماعة : إن قتل عمر بن الخطاب قد كان فى اليوم التاسع من شهر ربيع الأول، والناس يسمونه عيد بابا شجاع الدين
“A group (of Shīʿah) have said that the killing of ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb رضي الله عنه took place on the 9th of Rabīʿ al-Awwal. People (i.e., the Rāfiḍah) call this day the ‘Eid of Bābā Shujāʿ al-Dīn.’”

Thus, the exact grave of Abū Luʾluʾah is unknown, but the Rāfiḍah have fabricated a shrine in Iran out of their enmity towards ʿUmar رضي الله عنه, which they falsely revere.
