❖ Authentication of the Narration:
Status of the Chain: Its chain is weak (ḍaʿīf).
✿ Reason for Weakness:
① The narrator ʿĀṣim ibn ʿUbaydullah is weak.
- Graded as weak by hadith scholars.
- Referenced in:
- Silsilat al-Aḥādīth al-Ḍaʿīfah, Hadith no. 321
- Various hadith commentaries mention his lack of reliability in transmitting narrations.
Due to this weakness, the narration cannot be considered authentic.
❖ Conclusion:
The narration that the Prophet ﷺ gave the Adhān in the ear of Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī رضي الله عنهما at birth is found in well-known hadith collections but is not supported by a strong chain of transmission.
As such, this specific report is weak and should not be used as definitive evidence in religious rulings or practices unless its weakness is clearly noted.
