بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets—after whom there is no prophet—upon all other prophets and messengers, his wives, his descendants, his companions, and those who follow them in righteousness until the Day of Judgment.
Respected Readers:
The phrase "تَقَبَّلَ اللّٰهُ مِنَّا وَمِنْكُم" (May Allah accept from us and from you) is not authentically or reliably attributed to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ with any Sahih (authentic) or Hasan (sound) chain of narration. However, it has been authentically reported from several Companions, Tabi‘een (Successors), and esteemed Imams of the religion that they used this phrase when meeting others on the days of Eid.
① Abdullah ibn Busr al-Mazini (رضي الله عنه), ‘Abdur-Rahman ibn ‘Aaidh (تابعی), Jubayr ibn Nufayr (تابعی), and Khalid ibn Ma‘dan (تابعی)
Abu ‘Amr Safwan ibn ‘Amr as-Saksaki (d. 155 AH) said:
❝I heard Abdullah ibn Busr, ‘Abdur-Rahman ibn ‘Aaidh, Jubayr ibn Nufayr, and Khalid ibn Ma‘dan being told during the days of Eid:
"تَقَبَّلَ اللّٰهُ مِنَّا وَمِنْكُم", and they would say the same to others.❞
At-Targhib wat-Tarhib, Vol. 1, p. 251, Hadith 381
→ Authenticated as Hasan by researcher Ayman bin Salih bin Sha‘ban

Salat al-‘Eidayn by Al-Muhamili (d. 330 AH), Part 2, p. 218, Hadith 147

Tareekh Madinat Dimashq by Ibn ‘Asakir (d. 571 AH), Vol. 8, p. 344; Alt. Vol. 24, p. 154
② Imam Abu Abdullah Yunus ibn Ubayd al-‘Abdi al-Basri (d. 139 AH)
Imam Abu Bistam Shu‘bah ibn Hajjaj (d. 160 AH) said:
❝Yunus ibn Ubayd met me on Eid day and said:
"تَقَبَّلَ اللّٰهُ مِنَّا وَمِنْكَ"❞
Kitab ad-Du‘a by At-Tabarani, p. 288, Hadith 929
→ Verified as authentic with trustworthy narrators; Mowqoof on Yunus ibn Ubayd

Salat al-‘Eidayn by Al-Muhamili, Part 2, p. 220, Hadith 150
③ Fatwa of Imam Malik ibn Anas al-Madani (d. 179 AH)
Imam Abu Ahmad Ali ibn Thabit al-Jazari reported:
❝I asked Malik ibn Anas about the practice of saying on Eid day:
"تَقَبَّلَ اللّٰهُ مِنَّا وَمِنْكَ"
He replied:
“This is something that has always been practiced among us; we do not see anything wrong with it.”❞
Kitab ath-Thiqaat by Ibn Hibban, Vol. 9, p. 90; Alt. Vol. 5, p. 451, Entry 3328

④ Fatwa of Imam Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Hanbal ash-Shaybani (d. 241 AH)
Imam Abu Dawood (d. 275 AH) said:
❝I heard Ahmad being asked about saying on the day of Eid:
"تَقَبَّلَ اللّٰهُ مِنَّا وَمِنْكَ"
He replied:
“I hope there is nothing wrong with it.”❞

The evidence presented here is a selection among many authentic reports that establish the practice of saying "تَقَبَّلَ اللّٰهُ مِنَّا وَمِنْكُم" on Eid day when meeting one another. Therefore, following the noble Companions (رضي الله عنهم) and the righteous predecessors (رحمهم الله), one should say this phrase on Eid day upon greeting others.
