What should be recited while slaughtering Aqeeqah and the ruling on breaking the bones

This excerpt is taken from Sheikh Farooq Rafi Sahib's book Qurbani, Aqiqa, and Ashra Zil-Hijjah.

The Sunnah words to be said while slaughtering the Aqiqa animal

Just like slaughtering a common animal, it is also permissible to say Bismillah or Bismillah Wallahu Akbar when slaughtering the Aqiqah animal. Apart from this, there is no Sunnah to recite any other words during the slaughter of Aqiqah.

❀ Sayyida Aisha Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates:
يعق عن الغلام شاتان مكافئتان، وعن الجارية شاة، قالت عائشة: فعق رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن الحسن والحسين شاتين شاتين يوم السابع، وأمر أن يماط عن رأسه الأذى، وقال: اذبحوا على اسمه وقولوا: بسم الله الله أكبر، اللهم منك ولك، هٰذه عقيقة فلان
"Two similar goats are to be sacrificed for a boy and one goat for a girl as Aqiqah. Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) stated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) slaughtered two goats on the seventh day for Hasan and Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them) as Aqiqah. He (peace be upon him) ordered to remove the dirt from their heads and said: Slaughter (the Aqiqah) in the name of Allah and say these words: 'بسم الله الله أكبر، اللهم منك ولك هٰذه عقيقة فلان' Bismillah Allahu Akbar, O Allah, this is from You and for You. This is the Aqiqah of so-and-so."

Breaking the bones of the Aqiqah animal

Breaking the bones of the animal for Aqiqah meat is not a disliked act; rather, like regular slaughter, breaking its bones and preparing the meat is permissible and allowed. However, some people, keeping the following narration in mind, consider breaking the bones of the Aqiqah animal to be disliked and say that the meat's entire parts should be scattered, and this is considered a good omen that the child will remain physically intact. This view is completely false because the narration is weak.
❀ It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her):
عن الغلام شاتان مكافئتان، وعن الجارية شاة، تقطع جدولا ولا يكسر لها عظم
"For a boy, two equal goats, and for a girl, one goat. When preparing the meat of Aqiqah, the parts should be cut, and its bones should not be broken."

These words are included in this hadith, as explicitly mentioned in Sunan Bayhaqi
Reference: (302/9)
, that this is the statement of Ata bin Abi Rabah. Other narrators who narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) do not mention these additional words. Therefore, Abdul Malik bin Abi Sulayman is a narrator with many doubts, and due to his suspicion, these words were inserted into the Marfu' hadith.
