Warning for Visiting Disbelievers' Graves in Islam

⚠ Visiting the Grave of a Disbeliever and the Warning Associated With It
Written by: Imran Ayyub Lahori

❖ A Disbeliever’s Grave Should Not Be Prayed For – Rather, It Should Be Warned of Fire

It is narrated from Hazrat Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said to a Bedouin whose father had died in a state of disbelief:

حيثما مررت بقبر كافر فبشره بالنار
"Whenever you pass by the grave of a disbeliever, give him the glad tidings of the Fire."

❗ Key Point:
A disbeliever's grave is not a place for supplication (du‘a). Rather, the command is to give the warning of Hellfire as a reminder of the fate of disbelief.
