This excerpt is taken from the book Ṣaḥīḥ Ṣalāh an-Nabī ﷺ, authored by al-Shaykh ʿAbdur-Raḥmān ʿAzīz, published by Maktabah Dār al-Andalus.
“O ʿAbbās! O my uncle! Shall I not give you something? Shall I not grant you something? Shall I not present you with a gift? Shall I not make you the possessor of ten excellent qualities—such that when you perform this deed, Allah will forgive all your sins: the first and the last, the old and the new, those committed mistakenly and intentionally, the minor and the major, the hidden and the apparent?
That deed is that you perform four rakʿahs of voluntary prayer. In each rakʿah, recite Sūrah al-Fātiḥah and another sūrah. When you finish the recitation, while standing, recite the following words fifteen (15) times:
سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ
Then go into rukūʿ, and after completing the rukūʿ supplications, recite these words ten (10) times while still in rukūʿ. Then rise from rukūʿ, and after saying Samiʿallāhu liman ḥamidah and the related supplications, recite them ten (10) times. Then go into sujūd, and after completing the sujūd supplications, recite them ten (10) times. Then raise your head from sujūd, and after reciting the sitting supplication, recite them ten (10) times. Then go into the second sujūd and recite them ten (10) times. Then raise your head and in the sitting of rest recite them ten (10) times.
That makes a total of seventy-five (75) tasbīḥāt in one rakʿah. Repeat this in all four rakʿahs.
If you are able, then pray Ṣalāh al-Tasbīḥ once every day. If you cannot do that, then pray it once every Friday (i.e., once a week). If you cannot do that, then pray it once every month. If you cannot do that, then pray it once a year. And if you cannot even pray it once a year, then pray it at least once in your lifetime.”
❀ Performing Ṣalāh al-Tasbīḥ in congregation is not established from the Sunnah; therefore, it should be offered individually.
