"Sayyidat Nisa al-Alamin fi Zamanaha, al-Bid’ah al-Nabawiyyah wa al-Jiha al-Mustafawiyyah ... Daughter of the leader of all creation, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ... and the mother of Hasanayn" - "In her time, the leader of all women in the world, the beloved part of the Prophet and the connection to the Chosen One ... the daughter of the leader of all creation, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ... and the mother of Hasan and Husayn." (Siyar A'lam al-Nubala 118/2, 119)
When Sayyiduna Ali (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ) sent a marriage proposal to the daughter of Abu Jahl, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
"Fatimah is a part of me, so whoever angers her has angered me."
(Sahih Bukhari: 3714 and the wording is his, Sahih Muslim: 2449)
In another narration, it is said:
"What disturbs her, disturbs me."
(Sahih Bukhari: 5230 and Sahih Muslim: 2449, Darussalam: 6307)
Once, the Prophet (ﷺ) said to Sayyida Fatimah (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا):
"Are you not satisfied with being the leader of the women of Paradise or the women of the believers?"
She (happily) laughed. (Sahih Bukhari: 3624, Sahih Muslim: 2450)
Sayyida Aisha (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا) narrates that Fatimah (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا) came walking in a manner resembling the walk of the Prophet (ﷺ). The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
"Welcome, my daughter!"
Then he made her sit on his right or left. (Sahih Bukhari: 3623, Sahih Muslim: 2450)
Aisha Siddiqa (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا) states:
"I have never seen anyone resemble the Prophet (ﷺ) in demeanor, character, and conduct more than Fatimah (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا). When she came to the Prophet (ﷺ), he would stand up for her, kiss her, and seat her in his place. And when the Prophet (ﷺ) came to her, she would stand up, kiss him, and seat him in her place." (Sunan al-Tirmidhi: 3872, and its chain is Hasan. Al-Tirmidhi said: "This is a Hasan Ghareeb Hadith")
The Prophet (ﷺ) gave the glad tidings to Sayyida Fatimah (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا) at the time of his death that she would be the leader of the women of Paradise except for Maryam bint Imran. (Al-Tirmidhi: 3873, and its chain is Hasan)
Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ) narrates: "I came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and prayed Maghrib with him. Then he continued praying (Nafl) until Isha. When he finished and left, I followed him. He heard my footsteps and asked: ‘Who is this? Hudhayfah?’ I said: 'Yes.' He said:
'What do you need? May Allah forgive you and your mother.' Then he said:
‘This angel has never descended to the earth before tonight. He sought permission from his Lord to greet me and give me the glad tidings that Fatimah is the leader of the women of Paradise, and Hasan and Husayn are the leaders of the youth of Paradise.’
(Sunan al-Tirmidhi: 3781, and its chain is Hasan. Al-Tirmidhi said: "Hasan Ghareeb." It was authenticated by Ibn Khuzaymah: 1194, Ibn Hibban: 2229, and al-Dhahabi in Talqih al-Mustadrak 381/3)
The Prophet (ﷺ) called Sayyiduna Ali, Sayyida Fatimah, Sayyiduna Hasan, and Sayyiduna Husayn (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہم) and covered them with his cloak, saying:
"O Allah, these are my family (Ahlul Bayt)."
(Sahih Muslim: 2404/34 and Al-Hadith Magazine: 26 p. 62)
Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id al-Khudri (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
"By Him in Whose hand is my soul! No one harbors hatred against us, the Ahlul Bayt, except that Allah will throw him into Hellfire."
(Sahih Ibn Hibban, Al-Ihsan: 6939, another version: 6978, Al-Mawarid: 2246 and its chain is Hasan. It was authenticated by Al-Hakim according to the criteria of Muslim 150/3, Hadith 4717, and see Siyar A'lam al-Nubala 123/2)
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "The best women of Paradise are Khadijah bint Khuwaylid, Fatimah bint Muhammad (ﷺ), Asiyah bint Muzahim the wife of Pharaoh, and Maryam bint Imran."
(Musnad Ahmad 293/1 and its chain is Sahih, Al-Hadith Magazine: 30 p. 63)
During his terminal illness, the Prophet (ﷺ) called Sayyida Fatimah (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا) and whispered something to her, causing her to weep. Then he whispered something else, causing her to laugh. Sayyida Fatimah (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا) said: "The Prophet (ﷺ) told me: 'I will die in this illness,' so I wept. Then he told me: 'You will be the first of my family to join me,' so I laughed."
(Sahih Bukhari: 3715, 3716, Sahih Muslim: 2450)
Sayyida Fatimah (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا) passed away six months after the Prophet (ﷺ) at approximately twenty years of age (11 AH).
(See Taqrib al-Tahdhib: 8650)
Note (1):
The narration stating that Sayyida Fatimah (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا) performed a funeral bath before her death is weak and rejected. See Al-Hadith Magazine: 28 p. 15, 14.
Note (2):
Some misguided people claim that Sayyida Fatimah (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا) died because Sayyiduna Umar (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ) pushed her. This is entirely baseless, fabricated, and a made-up story.
In conclusion, we pray that Allah fills our hearts with love for Ahlul Bayt, all the Companions, the Rightly Guided Caliphs, Sayyiduna Hasan, Sayyiduna Husayn (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہم), and Sayyida Fatimah (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا). Ameen.
