– In the early stages, the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) was informed of only some attributes and signs of the promised Dajjāl (Dajjāl al-Maʿhūd).
– At that point, the exact time of Dajjāl's emergence was not disclosed.
– Some of the early signs of Dajjāl were found in Ibn Ṣayyād,
which led the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم), for a period of time, to believe that Ibn Ṣayyād might indeed be the promised Dajjāl.
– Later on, Allah ﷻ revealed to the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم)
the specific and detailed attributes of Dajjāl al-Maʿhūd, along with the time of his emergence.
– These details are mentioned in the ḥadīth of Fāṭimah bint Qays (رضي الله عنها), known as the Ḥadīth of al-Jassāsah.
– Companions like Jābir (رضي الله عنه), ʿUmar (رضي الله عنه), and ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿUmar (رضي الله عنه)
were not aware of the ḥadīth of Fāṭimah bint Qays,
and therefore, they remained firm upon their presumption or certainty regarding Ibn Ṣayyād.
– However, it is evident that the opinion or presumption of a Companion cannot override a later, elevated (marfūʿ) narration from the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم).
✔ The most accurate and well-researched opinion is that:
→ Ibn Ṣayyād is not the promised Dajjāl.
→ The promised Dajjāl will emerge at his appointed time in accordance with prophetic narrations.
– Where is Dajjāl now?
→ This is a matter known only to Allah ﷻ.
→ Even today, there are countless land and sea locations that remain unexplored and inaccessible to any individual or group.
