Unknown arrow hit martyr became a traveler to Jannat al-Firdous

This excerpt is taken from the book by Sheikh Abi Abdul Saboor Abdul Ghafoor Damni Fazail al-Jihad.

Narrated from Qatadah who said that Anas رضي الله عنه narrated a hadith that Um al-Rabee' bint al-Bara', who was the mother of Harithah ibn Suraqah رضي الله عنه, came to the Prophet Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم and said: "O Prophet of Allah! Will you not inform me about Harithah?" This Harithah رضي الله عنه was martyred in the Battle of Badr, struck by an arrow from an unknown direction. She said: "If he is in Paradise, I will be patient, and if he is elsewhere, I will weep for him greatly." The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: "O Umm Harithah! Paradise has many levels, and indeed your son is in the highest Paradise (Al-Firdaus Al-A'la)."

Explanation

Although in the narration, Umm al-Rabi' is called the daughter of Bara, this is a mistake of the narrator. The correct fact is that she is the daughter of Nazar and the paternal aunt of Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him). Umm al-Rabi' needed to ask the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) about her son because her son Haritha (may Allah be pleased with him) was not martyred fighting in the Battle of Badr; rather, he was martyred by an arrow coming from an unknown direction. She thought that since Haritha was not killed by the enemy, perhaps he would not attain Paradise. When she received the glad tidings from the Prophet that her son is in Paradise al-Firdaus, she was reassured.
