Allah ﷻ, the Creator of the universe, loves goodness and virtue in His creation. But there are certain traits that bring about His wrath — especially when found in a woman. Such a woman not only harms herself but becomes a trial for her family, husband, and society. The Qur’an and the sayings of the Prophet ﷺ clearly warn against these traits.
Hadith: “He who has in his heart an atom’s weight of arrogance will not enter Paradise.”
(Sahih Muslim)
Opposite Trait: Humility and modesty.
Hadith: “The worst of people in the sight of Allah on the Day of Judgment will be the one whom people avoid to protect themselves from his foul speech.”
(Sahih Bukhari)
Opposite Trait: Gentleness and pleasant speech.
Hadith: “I was shown the Hellfire, and the majority of its dwellers were women, due to their ingratitude… they are ungrateful to their husbands and ungrateful for good treatment.”
(Bukhari, Muslim)
Opposite Trait: Gratitude and loyalty.
Qur’an: “Do not backbite one another…”
(Surah Al-Hujurat, 49:12)
Opposite Trait: Covering others’ faults and wishing good for them.
Hadith: “Allah is modest and protective, and He loves modesty and covering.”
(Abu Dawud)
Opposite Trait: Haya (modesty), covering, and shyness.
Hadith: “Beware of envy, for it devours good deeds just as fire devours wood.”
(Abu Dawud)
Opposite Trait: Contentment and happiness for others’ blessings.
Hadith: “When a husband calls his wife to his bed and she refuses, and he spends the night angry with her, the angels curse her until morning.”
(Sahih Bukhari)
Opposite Trait: Loving obedience, respect, and care.
Qur’an: “…those who show off…”
(Surah Al-Ma‘un, 107:6)
Opposite Trait: Sincerity and simplicity.
Hadith: “He will not enter Paradise whose neighbor is not safe from his harm.”
(Sahih Muslim)
Opposite Trait: Kindness and good manners.
Qur’an: “…and they should not display their beauty…”
(Surah An-Nur, 24:31)
Opposite Trait: Proper hijab, modesty, and guarding the gaze.
A woman who embodies arrogance, ingratitude, foul speech, immodesty, jealousy, backbiting, disobedience, showing off, mistreatment, and lack of hijab earns Allah’s anger and loss in both worlds.
But if she replaces these with humility, gratitude, modesty, kindness, sincerity, and haya, she can become beloved to Allah ﷻ — her home will be filled with blessings, her society will benefit from her, and Paradise will be her eternal abode.
