[Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, al-Ṣalāh, 384]
"Whoever sends one salutation upon me, Allah sends ten mercies upon him in return."
When you hear the Mu’adhdhin (caller to prayer), repeat what he says. Then send salutation upon me, for whoever sends one salutation upon me, Allah sends ten blessings upon him in return.
"Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who believe, send blessings upon him and greet him with peace."
[al-Aḥzāb: 56]
"The miser is the one in whose presence I am mentioned, and he does not send salutation upon me."
[Jāmiʿ al-Tirmidhī, al-Daʿawāt: 3546]
"As long as a servant continues to send salutation upon me, the angels continue to pray for mercy on his behalf—let him increase or decrease as he wishes."
[Ṣaḥīḥ al-Jāmiʿ al-Ṣaghīr: 6560]
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَعَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ، اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَعَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ

✦ The Reward of One Salutation ✦
مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَىَّ صَلاَةً صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ بِهَا عَشْرًا[Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, al-Ṣalāh, 384]
"Whoever sends one salutation upon me, Allah sends ten mercies upon him in return."

The full narration explains that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:When you hear the Mu’adhdhin (caller to prayer), repeat what he says. Then send salutation upon me, for whoever sends one salutation upon me, Allah sends ten blessings upon him in return.
✦ A Right of the Prophet ﷺ Upon His Ummah ✦
Sending Durūd upon the Prophet ﷺ is not only a commendable act but also a duty and right we owe him. Allah commands in the Qur’an:"Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who believe, send blessings upon him and greet him with peace."
[al-Aḥzāb: 56]
✦ Condemnation of Neglecting Durūd ✦
The Prophet ﷺ said:"The miser is the one in whose presence I am mentioned, and he does not send salutation upon me."

✦ Continuous Mercy Through Durūd ✦
In another narration, the Prophet ﷺ said:"As long as a servant continues to send salutation upon me, the angels continue to pray for mercy on his behalf—let him increase or decrease as he wishes."

✦ The Prescribed Formula of Durūd ✦
The Prophet ﷺ taught the following form of salutation:اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَعَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ، اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَعَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ
