Makkah is the most beloved city to Allah
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Adi bin Hamra رضي الله عنه narrates that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed Makkah and said:
والله إنك لخير أرض الله، وأحب أرض الله إلى الله، ولولا أني أخرجت منك ما خرجت.
By Allah! Indeed, you are the best of Allah’s lands and the most beloved land to Allah among His lands. If I were not expelled from you, I would never leave.

Makkah is a city of peace
Allah Almighty said: [وَ ہٰذَا الۡبَلَدِ الۡاَمِیۡنِ]
By the secure city!

And He said: [اَوَ لَمۡ یَرَوۡا اَنَّا جَعَلۡنَا حَرَمًا اٰمِنًا]
Have they not seen that We have made a sanctuary secure?

In Makkah is the Ka'bah, which is the first house
Allah Almighty said: [اِنَّ اَوَّلَ بَیۡتٍ وُّضِعَ لِلنَّاسِ لَلَّذِیۡ بِبَکَّۃَ مُبٰرَکًا وَّ ہُدًی لِّلۡعٰلَمِیۡنَ]
Indeed, the first House established for mankind is that at Bakkah, blessed and a guidance for the worlds.

The reward of prayer in Makkah is very great
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: [صلاة في مسجدي أفضل من ألف صلاة فيما سواه، إلا المسجد الحرام، وصلاة في المسجد الحرام أفضل من مائة ألف صلاة فيما سواه]
Praying one prayer in my mosque is superior to praying a thousand prayers in other mosques, except for Masjid al-Haram, and praying one prayer in Masjid al-Haram is superior to one hundred thousand prayers in other mosques.

Intending oppression in Mecca is also a cause of severe warning
Allah Almighty said: [وَ مَنۡ یُّرِدۡ فِیۡہِ بِاِلۡحَادٍۭ بِظُلۡمٍ نُّذِقۡہُ مِنۡ عَذَابٍ اَلِیۡمٍ]
And whoever intends any wrongdoing or oppression therein, We will make him taste a painful punishment.

What actions are prohibited in the Haram of Mecca:
Allah has declared the Sacred Mosque of Makkah a place of peace. Therefore, there:
[1] Neither military action nor fighting is permissible there, and even unnecessarily carrying weapons is prohibited. If a criminal takes refuge in the Sacred Mosque, no harm shall be done to him as long as he remains within the sanctuary.
[2] The animals of the Sacred Mosque of Makkah are also safe and protected. They cannot be hunted nor driven for hunting. However, it is permitted to kill harmful animals even within the sanctuary.
[3] The plants, trees, and grass of the Sacred Mosque of Makkah are also safe and protected. However, for certain economic necessities, cutting of Azkhar grass has been permitted.
[4] It is not permissible to pick up any lost item from the Sacred Mosque of Makkah unless the person who picks it up recognizes the owner and returns it to him. Among the above matters, there are actions that are permissible in other places but not allowed in the Sacred Mosque of Makkah due to the sanctity of the Kaaba. Then, actions such as heresy, irreligion, and mischief, which are forbidden elsewhere, if committed in the Sacred Mosque of Makkah, how severe will the crime be? Accordingly, the punishment for such acts will also be increased.
Allah has declared Makkah as Haram
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of the conquest of Makkah: [
The day Allah created the heavens and the earth, on that very day this city (Makkah) was declared sacred. Therefore, this city will remain Haram with Allah's sanctity until the Day of Judgment.

Madinah is the city of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the place of Hijrah
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: [أمرت بقرية تأكل القرى، يقولون يثرب وهي المدينة، تنفي الناس كما ينفي الكير خبث الحديد]
I have been commanded to migrate to a city that will consume other cities (i.e., become their leader). The hypocrites call it Yathrib, but its name is Madinah. It expels the wicked people just as a furnace removes rust from iron.
Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari: 1871, Sahih Muslim: 1382
Madinah is also Haram
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: [أن إبراهيم حرم مكة ودعا لها ، وحرمت المدينة كما حرم إبراهيم مكة]
Ibrahim (peace be upon him) declared Makkah as sacred and prayed for it. I also declare Madinah sacred in the same way that Ibrahim (peace be upon him) declared Makkah sacred.

Madinah is the center of faith
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: [إِنَّ الْإِيمَانَ لَيَأْرِزُ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ كَمَا تَأْرِزُ الْحَيَّةُ إِلَى جُحْرِهَا]
(Near the Day of Judgment) faith will gather in Madinah just as a snake coils up in its hole.
Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari: 1876, Sahih Muslim: 147
Madinah is a pure city, it expels bad people
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: [إنها طيبة يعني المدينة، وإنها تنفي الخبث، كما تنفي النار خبث الفضة]
Indeed, this is Tayyibah (pure). He ﷺ meant Madinah. It removes filth just as fire removes the impurities from silver.
Reference: Sahih Muslim: 1384
Plague and the Dajjal will not enter Madinah
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: [على أنقاب المدينة ملائكة، لا يدخلها الطاعون، ولا الدجال]
There are angels on the roads of Madinah, so neither plague nor the Dajjal can enter it.
Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari: 1880, Sahih Muslim: 1379
Glad tidings of intercession for those who are patient in Madinah
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: [لا يصبر على لأوائها وشدتها أحد ، إلا كنت له شهيدا أو شفيعا يوم القيامة]
Whoever is patient with the hardships and difficulties of Medina, I will intercede for him on the Day of Judgment, or I will testify in his favor.
Reference: Sahih Muslim: 1377
The Virtue of Dying in Medina
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: [من استطاع أن يموت بالمدينة فليمت بها ، فإني أشفع لمن يموت بها]
Whoever can die in Medina should do so, for whoever dies there, I will intercede for him.
