After the invitation of Islam came, people were divided into two groups. One group accepted this invitation, abandoning the worldly attractions and desires of the self, making the pleasure of Allah their purpose in life, and worshiping Him as if they were seeing Allah. Allah Almighty has given glad tidings of Paradise to such sincere believers and has promised them an even greater blessing of vision:
Indeed, for those who do good is the best [reward] and extra. No darkness will cover their faces, nor humiliation. Those are companions of Paradise; they will abide therein eternally. But those who have done evil will have the recompense of evil, and humiliation will cover them. They will have no protector from Allah. It will be as if their faces are covered with pieces of the night, so dark. Those are companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.

Imam Ahmad and Imam Muslim have narrated from Suhaib al-Rumi, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, recited this verse and said: When the people of Paradise enter Paradise and the people of Hell enter Hell, a caller will call out: O people of Paradise! Allah had made a promise to you which He now wants to fulfill. They will say: Has Allah not made our scales heavy? Has He not made our faces radiant? Has He not admitted us into Paradise away from Hell? What else remains? Then Allah will remove the veil, and the people of Paradise will begin to see Him. By Allah, there is no blessing greater than this blessing of vision, and nothing will be more comforting to the eyes than this.

Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said while describing to his Lord: Allah Almighty has recorded good and evil deeds and then made them clear. Now, whoever intends a good deed but does not perform it, Allah writes for him a complete good deed in his record. And if he intends and then performs it, Allah writes for him from ten to seven hundred good deeds, or even many times more. And whoever intends an evil deed but does not perform it, Allah writes for him a complete good deed. But if he intends and then performs it, only one evil deed is written for him.

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
"Whoever intends a good deed but does not perform it, one good deed is written for him. And whoever intends a good deed and performs it, ten to seven hundred good deeds are written for him. And whoever intends an evil deed but does not perform it, no sin is written for him. But if he performs it, only one sin is written for him."
