This excerpt is taken from Sheikh Abu Hamza Abdul Khaliq Siddiqi's book Sahih Fazail-e-Amaal.
Our Master Ibrahim (peace be upon him) is among the Ulul Azm Prophets. He underwent great trials for the sake of the Oneness of Allah Almighty, but he remained like a mountain of steadfastness in the face of all these trials. As a reward, Allah Almighty made him His Khalil (close friend), and mentioned him beautifully throughout His sacred scripture.
It should be remembered that Allah Almighty granted Ibrahim (peace be upon him) from childhood the ability to contemplate the sun, moon, and other stars, to understand the Oneness of Lordship and the Oneness of Worship, to believe in it, and to present this invitation before his father Azar and his people.
◈ Invitation to the people for the Oneness of Allah and breaking idols:
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِ مَا هَٰذِهِ التَّمَاثِيلُ الَّتِي أَنتُمْ لَهَا عَاكِفُونَ ﴿٥٢﴾ قَالُوا وَجَدْنَا آبَاءَنَا لَهَا عَابِدِينَ ﴿٥٣﴾ قَالَ لَقَدْ كُنتُمْ أَنتُمْ وَآبَاؤُكُمْ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ ﴿٥٤﴾ قَالُوا أَجِئْتَنَا بِالْحَقِّ أَمْ أَنتَ مِنَ اللَّاعِبِينَ ﴿٥٥﴾ قَالَ بَل رَّبُّكُمْ رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ الَّذِي فَطَرَهُنَّ وَأَنَا عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكُم مِّنَ الشَّاهِدِينَ ﴿٥٦﴾ وَتَاللَّهِ لَأَكِيدَنَّ أَصْنَامَكُم بَعْدَ أَن تُوَلُّوا مُدْبِرِينَ ﴿٥٧﴾ فَجَعَلَهُمْ جُذَاذًا إِلَّا كَبِيرًا لَّهُمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِ يَرْجِعُونَ ﴿٥٨﴾ قَالُوا مَن فَعَلَ هَٰذَا بِآلِهَتِنَا إِنَّهُ لَمِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ ﴿٥٩﴾ قَالُوا سَمِعْنَا فَتًى يَذْكُرُهُمْ يُقَالُ لَهُ إِبْرَاهِيمُ ﴿٦٠﴾ قَالُوا فَأْتُوا بِهِ عَلَىٰ أَعْيُنِ النَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَشْهَدُونَ ﴿٦١﴾ قَالُوا أَأَنتَ فَعَلْتَ هَٰذَا بِآلِهَتِنَا يَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ ﴿٦٢﴾ قَالَ بَلْ فَعَلَهُ كَبِيرُهُمْ هَٰذَا فَاسْأَلُوهُمْ إِن كَانُوا يَنطِقُونَ ﴿٦٣﴾ فَرَجَعُوا إِلَىٰ أَنفُسِهِمْ فَقَالُوا إِنَّكُمْ أَنتُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ ﴿٦٤﴾ ثُمَّ نُكِسُوا عَلَىٰ رُءُوسِهِمْ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا هَٰؤُلَاءِ يَنطِقُونَ ﴿٦٥﴾ قَالَ أَفَتَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُكُمْ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَضُرُّكُمْ ﴿٦٦﴾ أُفٍّ لَّكُمْ وَلِمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ ۖ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ ﴿٦٧﴾
"When he said to his father and his people, 'What are these idols that you are worshipping?' They said, 'We found our forefathers worshipping them.' Ibrahim said, 'You and your forefathers were clearly in error.' They said, 'Have you really come to us with the truth, or are you just mocking us?' Ibrahim said, 'Rather, your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth who created them, and I bear witness to this.' And by Allah! When you turn your backs and leave, I will surely take action against your idols.' So he left the largest idol and broke the rest into pieces, so that the people would come back to it. They said, 'Who has done this to our idols? Surely, he is a wrongdoer.' The people said, 'We heard a young man named Ibrahim speaking about these idols.' They all said, 'Bring him before everyone so that we may see.' The people asked, 'O Ibrahim! Did you do this to our gods?' He said, 'Rather, this idol did it; if they can speak, then ask them.' Then they pondered this in their hearts and said to one another, 'Indeed, you are wrongdoers.' Then they (falsely) denied the truth and said, 'You know that these idols do not speak.' Ibrahim said, 'Do you worship besides Allah those who can neither benefit you nor harm you? Shame on you and on those gods you worship besides Allah. Do you not use reason?'"

◈ The Burning of Nimrod's Garden:
If today someone develops faith like that of Ibrahim,
The fire can create a garden-like atmosphere.
The argument of Ibrahim (peace be upon him) left the polytheists helpless, and as has always been the way of false worshippers, when powerless against the argument of the truth-seekers, they resort to using force and oppression. They conferred among themselves and decided that the only way left to silence Ibrahim was to throw him into a blazing fire, so that the world would witness his helplessness and everyone would know that anyone who does not respect our gods will be given such a painful punishment. They kindled a fierce fire and threw Ibrahim from a distance into it using a catapult. However, the fire did not harm Ibrahim (peace be upon him); Allah commanded it to become cool for Ibrahim, so cool that it would not cause any harm but rather bring comfort and safety. Thus, it became cool and peaceful. Allah said:
قَالُوا حَرِّقُوهُ وَانصُرُوا آلِهَتَكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ فَاعِلِينَ ﴿٦٨﴾ قُلْنَا يَا نَارُ كُونِي بَرْدًا وَسَلَامًا عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ﴿٦٩﴾ وَأَرَادُوا بِهِ كَيْدًا فَجَعَلْنَاهُمُ الْأَخْسَرِينَ ﴿٧٠﴾
When they could not outwit him, they said: "Burn him and help your gods if you are going to do anything." But We said: "O fire! Be coolness and safety for Ibrahim." And they intended for him harm, but We made them the greatest losers."

◈ Our Master Ibrahim (peace be upon him)'s Reliance and Remembrance of Allah:
Those people, at the signal of a wandering Arab from Persia, placed Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) in one basket of a catapult. Shaib Jiayi says that his name was Hezan; Allah Almighty caused him to sink into the earth, and he will continue sinking until the Day of Judgment. When Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was thrown into the fire, these words were on his tongue: حسبي الله ونعم الوكيل "Allah is sufficient for me, and He is the best disposer of affairs."

Imam Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) said حسبي الله ونعم الوكيل at the time he was thrown into the fire, and Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said at the time when people said: ﴿إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ جَمَعُوا لَكُمْ فَاخْشَوْهُمْ فَزَادَهُمْ إِيمَانًا وَقَالُوا حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ﴾
Reference: (3-Al Imran:173)
"Indeed, the disbelievers have gathered against you (in great numbers), so fear them," but their faith increased, and they said: حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ "Sufficient for us is Allah, and He is the best disposer of affairs."

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported, and it is also narrated from Saeed bin Jubair (may Allah have mercy on him), that when Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was thrown into the fire, the angel in charge of the rain began to say that when will I be commanded to send down rain so that I may do so. But Allah's command was much faster than that, and it was that Allah Almighty said: ﴿يَا نَارُ كُونِي بَرْدًا وَسَلَامًا عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ﴾ "O fire! Be coolness and safety for Ibrahim." So all the fire on the earth was extinguished.

Qatadah says that on that day every creature tried to extinguish the fire except the lizard. Zahri (may Allah have mercy on him) says that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered it to be killed and named it "Fuwaysiq."

It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When Ibrahim was thrown into the fire, all the animals tried to extinguish the fire except the lizard, which blew on the fire. Therefore, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered it to be killed; it is poisonous and leprous."

◈ Our Master Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and the Call to Migration and the Lifestyle and Methodology of His Offspring:
After coming out of the fire, our Master Ibrahim (peace be upon him) continued to invite people to monotheism, and day by day the hostility of the idolaters against him increased. Eventually, Allah Almighty commanded him to leave his country and migrate towards the land of Sham. So he set out for the land of Sham with Lut (peace be upon him) (who was the son of his brother Haran Asghar) and his wife Sarah (peace be upon her) (who was the daughter of his uncle Haran Akbar). The land of Sham was famous for its fertility, trees, canals, and abundance of fruits, and it was the birthplace and residence of many prophets. For this reason, Allah Almighty has declared it blessed for the people of the world.
◈ Ibrahim (peace be upon him) prayed for righteous offspring:
Our master Ibrahim (peace be upon him) prayed:
﴿رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ﴾
"O my Lord! Grant me a righteous son."

So Allah Almighty accepted his prayer, and accordingly, from the womb of Lady Sarah (peace be upon her), our master Ishaq (peace be upon him) was born. Allah, out of His grace and mercy, gave Ishaq (peace be upon him) a son like Yaqub (peace be upon him) during Ibrahim's lifetime, who, like his grandfather and father, became a prophet. Allah Almighty gave all three the title of "righteous" because they fully fulfilled the right of worship to the Creator and Owner, and did not neglect the rights of the servants. Allah made all of them leaders of guidance and growth, who, according to divine revelation, guided people towards goodness, did righteous deeds themselves, observed prayer regularly, and remained engaged in the worship of their Lord:
وَنَجَّيْنَاهُ وَلُوطًا إِلَى الْأَرْضِ الَّتِي بَارَكْنَا فِيهَا لِلْعَالَمِينَ ﴿٧١﴾ وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ إِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ نَافِلَةً ۖ وَكُلًّا جَعَلْنَا صَالِحِينَ ﴿٧٢﴾ وَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ أَئِمَّةً يَهْدُونَ بِأَمْرِنَا وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْهِمْ فِعْلَ الْخَيْرَاتِ وَإِقَامَ الصَّلَاةِ وَإِيتَاءَ الزَّكَاةِ ۖ وَكَانُوا لَنَا عَابِدِينَ ﴿٧٣﴾
"And We delivered them and Lot to the land which We had blessed for the worlds. And We gave him Ishaq, and Jacob as an additional gift, and all of them We made righteous, and We made them leaders who guided by Our command. And We sent down to them the revelation that they should do good deeds, establish prayer, and give zakah, and they were devoted to Us alone in worship."

◈ The Reward of Patience in Trials is Imamate:
Our master Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was tested by his Lord through various commands and prohibitions. He passed all these trials completely, so Allah honored him by making him the leader of monotheism for the entire world. When this good news was given to him, he wished and prayed: O Allah! Include my offspring in this honor and reward as well:
﴿وَإِذِ ابْتَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ رَبُّهُ بِكَلِمَاتٍ فَأَتَمَّهُنَّ ۖ قَالَ إِنِّي جَاعِلُكَ لِلنَّاسِ إِمَامًا ۖ قَالَ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِي ۖ قَالَ لَا يَنَالُ عَهْدِي الظَّالِمِينَ﴾
"And (remember) when Ibrahim was tried by his Lord with certain commands, and he fulfilled them all. Allah said: I will make you a leader for the people. He said: And also from my offspring? Allah said: My covenant does not include the wrongdoers."

So Allah accepted his prayer, as He said elsewhere in Surah Al-Ankabut:
﴿وَجَعَلْنَا فِي ذُرِّيَّتِهِ النُّبُوَّةَ وَالْكِتَابَ﴾
"And We gave to his offspring prophethood and the Book."

◈ The Religion of Ibrahim (peace be upon him) is a Distinguished Nation:
﴿وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ دِينًا مِّمَّنْ أَسْلَمَ وَجْهَهُ لِلَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحْسِنٌ وَاتَّبَعَ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفًا ۗ وَاتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ خَلِيلًا﴾
Who is better in religion than one who submits his face to Allah while being a doer of good and follows the religion of Abraham, the upright Muslim? And Allah took Abraham as a friend."

◈ The Holy Prophet ﷺ used to supplicate morning and evening to remain steadfast on the Abrahamic faith:
أمسينا على فطرة الإسلام وعلى كلمة الإخلاص وعلى دين نبينا محمد وعلى ملة أبينا إبراهيم حنيفا مسلما وما كان من المشركين (once in the morning and once in the evening)
"We have believed in the religion of Islam, the word of sincerity, the religion of our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and the religion of our father Abraham the upright (Hanif), a Muslim. And he was not of the polytheists."

Sheikh Arnaout has authenticated it according to the conditions of the two Shaykhs.Note: In the morning, instead of «أمسينا», they used to recite «أصبحنا» 'We have believed in the morning.'
◈ Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him) and tears of fear of Allah:
Our Master Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was very humble, bowing down and weeping a lot. Allah Almighty says:
﴿إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ لَحَلِيمٌ أَوَّاهٌ مُّنِيبٌ﴾
"Indeed, Ibrahim was patient, tenderhearted, and turned to Allah in repentance."

Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated in the exegesis of this noble verse from Ka'b al-Ahbar (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: ﴿إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ لَحَلِيمٌ أَوَّاهٌ مُّنِيبٌ﴾

Our Master Ibrahim (peace be upon him) used to weep profusely remembering the fire of Hell."

◈ Our Master Ibrahim's (peace be upon him) practice of blowing (ruqyah) and seeking healing from Allah:
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas رضي الله عنهما narrates that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم used to seek refuge in Allah for Hasan and Husayn رضي الله عنہما, and he used to say that your father Ibrahim عليه السلام used to seek refuge for Ismail and Ishaq عليهما السلام with these words. These words are:
اعوذ بكلمات الله التامة من كل شيطان وهامة ومن كل عين لامة
I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from every devil and every poisonous creature and from every evil eye.

◈ Sayyiduna Ibrahim عليه السلام and Obedience, Monotheism, and Gratitude:
Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was a pious, possessing all virtues, a worthy leader to follow, and a prophet. He was very obedient to his Lord, did not associate others with Allah, and was grateful for Allah’s blessings, meaning he used those blessings in actions pleasing to Allah. Allah had chosen him for His friendship and prophethood because when he loved Allah more than anything else, that love was firmly established in his heart, leaving no room for the love of anyone else. Allah guided him to the straight path, that is, the religion of Islam, and his mention became beautifully established on the tongues of all people of faith forever. In the Hereafter, he will be granted a high status in Paradise among the righteous. Allah Almighty says:
إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ كَانَ أُمَّةً قَانِتًا لِّلَّهِ حَنِيفًا وَلَمْ يَكُ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ ﴿١٢٠﴾ شَاكِرًا لِّأَنْعُمِهِ ۚ اجْتَبَاهُ وَهَدَاهُ إِلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ ﴿١٢١﴾ وَآتَيْنَاهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً ۖ وَإِنَّهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ لَمِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ ﴿١٢٢﴾
“Indeed, Ibrahim was a leader, obedient to Allah, devoutly true, and he was not of those who associate others with Allah. He was grateful for Allah’s favors. Allah chose him and guided him to a straight path. We gave him good in this world, and indeed, he will be among the righteous in the Hereafter.”

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that when the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) saw pictures in the Kaaba, he did not enter until he ordered that those pictures be erased. He saw that the pictures depicted Ibrahim and Ismail (peace be upon them) holding arrows in their hands. The Prophet said: “May Allah destroy them (the polytheists). By Allah! They never cast lots with arrows.”

◈ On the Day of Resurrection, Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) will be the first to be clothed:
The Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "All people will be gathered naked and uncircumcised, then the first to be clothed will be Ibrahim (peace be upon him)." Then he recited this verse: ﴿كَمَا بَدَأْنَا أَوَّلَ خَلْقٍ نُّعِيدُهُ﴾ "As We began the first creation, so shall We repeat it."

◈ Mention of his palace in Paradise:
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "There is a palace in Paradise." The narrator says, I think he said: "It is made of pearls. It has no cracks or weaknesses, prepared by Allah for His friend Ibrahim (peace be upon him)."

The narration is authentic.◈ The prayer of Khalil regarding the Prophethood of the Messenger ﷺ:
Our master Ibrahim and his son Ismail, peace be upon them, sought from Allah beneficial knowledge and the ability to perform righteous deeds, and sought Allah's pleasure, then they prayed: O Allah!
﴿رَبَّنَا وَابْعَثْ فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِّنْهُمْ يَتْلُو عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتِكَ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ﴾
"And, O our Lord! Send among them a messenger from themselves who will recite to them Your verses, teach them the Book and wisdom, and purify them. Indeed, You are the Exalted in Might, the Wise."

Our master Ayyub, peace be upon him, was tested by Allah Almighty with various trials, yet he remained patient and did not utter a single word of complaint, nor did any doubt or suspicion enter his heart. He was afflicted with illness and severe pain and remained in that state for many years.
◈ Our Master Ayyub, peace be upon him, demonstrating patience:
Our master Ayyub, peace be upon him, was extremely patient to the extent that the patience of Ayyub is proverbial. Allah Almighty says:
﴿إِنَّا وَجَدْنَاهُ صَابِرًا ۚ نِّعْمَ الْعَبْدُ ۖ إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ﴾
"Indeed, We found him patient, an excellent servant. Indeed, he was one who repeatedly turned back to Allah."

◈ Our Master Ayyub (peace be upon him) and the Support of Prayer:
When the pain became very intense, Prophet Ayyub (peace be upon him) supplicated and prayed to the Lord of the Worlds, the Most Merciful of the merciful:
﴿أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ﴾
"Indeed, adversity has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful."

Yazid bin Maysarah says that when Allah Almighty tested Prophet Ayyub (peace be upon him) and took away all his family, wealth, and children, leaving nothing behind, he praised Allah in the best manner and said in the presence of Allah: O Lord of Lords! I praise You alone. You have bestowed favors upon me, granting me wealth and children to the extent that the love of wealth and children settled in every part of my heart. Now that You have taken back all this wealth and children and emptied my heart of their love, there is nothing between You and me. Whatever You have done with me, if my enemy Iblis (Satan) comes to know of it, he will become envious of me. Iblis was greatly troubled by this statement of Prophet Ayyub (peace be upon him). Prophet Ayyub (peace be upon him) also said in the presence of Allah: O Allah! You gave me wealth and children, but never did a person stand at my door upon whom I had wronged, and You are well aware of this. When a bed was spread for me, I used to say to myself: O my soul! You were not created to rest on a soft bed. And I used to leave the bed to seek Your pleasure and satisfaction.

◈ The Fruit of Patience, the Shower of Allah's Mercy:
Thus, Allah Almighty accepted your prayer and commanded you to rise from your place and strike your foot on the ground. When you did so, Allah Almighty caused a spring to gush forth and ordered you to bathe in it. When you bathed, all your pain was removed. Thus, the command of Allah Almighty is:
﴿ارْكُضْ بِرِجْلِكَ ۖ هَٰذَا مُغْتَسَلٌ بَارِدٌ وَشَرَابٌ﴾
(We said, strike the ground) and behold, a spring gushed forth, cool for bathing and sweet for drinking.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: The Prophet Ayyub (Job) remained ill for eighteen years until even his close relatives abandoned him, except for two men. When he went out to relieve himself and finished, his wife would support him with her hand until he returned. One day, she was late, and Allah revealed:
﴿ارْكُضْ بِرِجْلِكَ ۖ هَٰذَا مُغْتَسَلٌ بَارِدٌ وَشَرَابٌ﴾ اركض برجلك Strike your foot on the ground; this is cool water for bathing and drinking. When the wife arrived late, she looked and saw Sayyiduna Ayyub (peace be upon him) approaching her, completely cured by Allah, and now in a very beautiful state. The wife said upon seeing him, "Have you seen the Prophet of Allah who was here in a state of illness? By Allah! When he was healthy, he resembled you the most." He replied, "That is I." Sayyiduna Ayyub (peace be upon him) had two fields, one of wheat and the other of barley. Then Allah sent two clouds. One cloud came over the wheat field and rained gold until it was filled to the brim. Then the other rained silver over the barley field until it was completely filled with silver."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "When Allah granted Ayyub (peace be upon him) health, He sent a rain of golden locusts upon him. He began catching them by hand and collecting them in his clothes. He was asked, 'O Ayyub! Are you not satisfied?' He replied, 'O Allah! Who can be satisfied except by Your grace and mercy?'"

He was also granted children and as many more besides them. Allah the Exalted says:
﴿وَآتَيْنَاهُ أَهْلَهُ وَمِثْلَهُم مَّعَهُمْ﴾
And We gave him his family and the like with them as a mercy from Us.

﴿وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ أَهْلَهُ وَمِثْلَهُم مَّعَهُمْ رَحْمَةً مِّنَّا وَذِكْرَىٰ لِأُولِي الْأَلْبَابِ﴾
And We gave him his family and their like along with them as a mercy from Us and a reminder for those of understanding.

This was due to his patience, steadfastness, repentance, humility, and expression of poverty, and it was a mercy from Allah Almighty and a lesson for the people of intellect and wisdom so that they may know that the outcome of patience is relief, success, and comfort.
