The Virtue of Waiting for Salah

Allah Almighty says:
”Then when you have finished the prayer, remember Allah standing, sitting, and lying down on your sides, and when you are free from your state of prayer, perform the prayer (again), indeed the prayer has been decreed upon the believers at fixed times.“

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: ”Shall I not tell you about a deed through which Allah erases sins and raises ranks?“ The Companions said: Why not, O Messenger of Allah! He said: ”Performing perfect ablution despite hardship and discomfort, walking frequently to the mosques, and waiting for the next prayer after finishing one, this is the bond (Ribat), this is the bond.“

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) said:
Once after the Maghrib prayer, some people returned, and some were waiting for the Isha prayer. The Noble Prophet (peace be upon him) came walking so fast that his breath was heavy. Even the cloth on his knees had slipped. He said: ”O people! Rejoice, your Lord has opened a door in the sky and said before the angels: Look, these are My servants who have prayed one prayer and are waiting for the next prayer.“

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
”There are seven types of people whom Allah will shade on the Day of Resurrection under His shade when there will be no other shade except His: 1) A just ruler, 2) A youth who spends his youth in the worship of Allah, and 3) A person whose heart is attached to the mosque, who leaves the prayer and is eager to return to it... etc.“

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
The angels pray for the one among you who remains seated on his prayer mat after the prayer, saying: O Allah! Forgive him. O Allah! Have mercy on him. The person who stays only because of the prayer and no other reason prevents him from going home, then all that time will be counted as prayer for him.
