Book of Reconciliation

The Virtue of Making Reconciliation

① Sayyiduna Abu Darda رضي الله عنه narrates that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
“Shall I not tell you of a deed that is superior to fasting and prayer?”
The Companions رضي الله عنهم said: Why not? Please tell us.
“Making reconciliation among people, for discord among them is severing the ties of kinship.”
Reference: Abu Dawood, Book of Manners, Hadith 4919; Tirmidhi, Book of the Description of the Resurrection, Hadith 2509.

Reconciliation and Brotherhood

① Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said:
"On Mondays and Thursdays, the gates of Paradise are opened, so every person is forgiven except for the one who has a grudge against his brother. It is said: Release these two until they reconcile, release these two until they reconcile."
Reference: Muslim, Book of Virtue, Enjoining Good Manners and Joining of the Ties of Kinship 36/2565, Abu Dawood, Book of Manners 4916. And in the narrations of Muslim it is mentioned: "On every Thursday and Monday, deeds are presented."

② Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said:
"Avoid suspicion, for suspicion is the greatest falsehood. Do not spy, do not compete with one another, do not envy one another, do not harbor hatred, and do not sever ties. O servants of Allah! As you have been commanded, become brothers. A Muslim is the brother of another Muslim; he neither oppresses him nor abandons him nor despises him. Piety is here, piety is here" - pointing to his chest (heart) - "It is enough for a person to be considered bad that he despises his Muslim brother. It is completely forbidden for a Muslim to harm another Muslim in his life, honor, or wealth. Indeed, Allah looks at your bodies, not your faces, but He looks at your hearts and your deeds, according to a narration. And do not envy one another, do not harbor hatred, do not spy, do not bid up prices, and O servants of Allah, become brothers."
And in another narration:
"Do not sever ties of kinship among yourselves, nor harbor hatred or envy, and O servants of Allah, become brothers."
And in another narration:
"Do not sever ties with one another, nor sell to one another at a profit."
Reference: Bukhari, Book of Marriage 5143, Muslim, Book of Virtue, Enjoining Good Manners and Joining of the Ties of Kinship 2563/28.

③ Narrated by Sayyiduna Anas (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said:
"Do not harbor hatred or envy among yourselves, do not sever ties or break kinship, and O servants of Allah, become brothers. It is not permissible for a Muslim to sever ties with his brother for more than three days."
Reference: Bukhari, Book of Manners 6065, Muslim, Book of Virtue, Enjoining Good Manners and Joining of the Ties of Kinship 2559/23.
