The Virtue of Obedience to the Husband in the Light of Authentic Hadiths

This excerpt is taken from Sheikh Abu Hamza Abdul Khaliq Siddiqi's book Sahih Fazail-e-Amaal.

The Virtue of a Wife's Obedience to Her Husband

Sayyiduna Haseen bin Muhsin رضي الله عنه narrates that his paternal aunt came to the Prophet Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم, and the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم asked her: Are you married? She said: Yes. The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم asked: How do you behave towards your husband? She said: I have never disobeyed him except in what is beyond my power. The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: Reflect on what your relationship with him is? (Beware!) He is your paradise and your hell. Meaning, obedience to him leads to paradise and disobedience leads to hell.

Hakim declared it "Sahih" and Dhahabi agreed with his view.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه narrates that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: When a woman performs the five prayers, fasts during the month of Ramadan, guards her chastity, and obeys her husband, she may enter through whichever gate of Paradise she wishes.

The Prophet of Mercy صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said:
If I were to command anyone to prostrate to another human being, I would certainly command a woman to prostrate to her husband, because he has great rights over his wife. And no woman can taste the sweetness of faith until she fulfills the rights of her husband. And if the husband desires to have intercourse with her, it is obligatory for her to respect his desire, even if he is riding a camel with a saddle.
