The Virtue of Continuous Charity in the Light of Authentic Hadiths

The Virtue of Continuous Charity (Sadaqah Jariyah)

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things (the benefit of which continues to reach him): a continuous charity, or knowledge from which benefit is derived, or a righteous child who prays for him."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever calls to guidance will receive a reward equal to those who follow that guidance, without any decrease in their reward."

Teach and train your children in the religion of Islam so that after your death they become a continuous charity for you. Therefore, the Prophet of Mercy (peace be upon him) said:
"Allah, the Exalted, will raise the rank of His righteous servant in Paradise, and he will look and say: O my Lord! How did I attain this rank? Allah will say: It is due to the supplication of your son."

Those who worry about worldly life should reflect on the following hadith. The Noble Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
The deeds and good actions whose benefits continue for the believer even after death include: knowledge that he taught and spread, righteous offspring he left behind, or a Mushaf (Qur'an) he left as inheritance, or a mosque he built, or a travelers' inn he established, or a canal he dug, or charity he gave while in good health and life; the reward for these deeds continues to reach him after death."
