Who is saved from Shaytan?
Answer:
The answer comes directly from the words of Shaytan himself! Allah Almighty says:
“He said: ‘My Lord! Because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them all, except among them Your sincere servants.’”
[Al-Hijr: 39-40]
Shaytan himself admitted his inability to mislead the sincere servants. The sincere one is the person who acts solely for Allah’s sake and does not wish for people’s praise. Just as he hides his sins, he also conceals his good deeds. His sincerity in intention is purely for Allah.
Ikhlas (Sincerity):
It is forgetting the creation while having a constant gaze upon the Creator. It is to always fear Allah.
The Prophet Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
“Indeed, Allah the Exalted accepts only the deeds which are purely for Him and for His Face alone.”
[Sahih at-Targhib wat-Tarhib 2/56]
