This excerpt is taken from the book of Sheikh al-Islam Imam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy on him, Al-Jawab al-Bahir fi Zuwar al-Maqabir, translated by Sheikh Ataullah Saqib.
The journey of seeking blessings and visitation is Hajj:
In any case, Umayyah bin Abi al-Salt said: "We have a house to which the Arabs perform Hajj." And Abu Sufyan had confirmed this, which proves that a journey undertaken with the intention of worship towards a certain place is called Hajj, and Hajj is a specific type of worship. The conclusion is that traveling with the intention of worship to any place other than the House of Allah will be considered Hajj and worship of other than Allah, just as supplicating to other than Allah falls under praying for other than Allah.
❀ Allah Almighty says:
"O Prophet! Say, 'Indeed, my Lord has guided me to a straight path - a correct religion - the way of Abraham, inclining toward truth. And he was not among the polytheists. Say, 'Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds. No partner has He. And this I have been commanded, and I am the first [among you] of the Muslims.'"
