This excerpt is taken from Sheikh Hussain bin Mubarak Al-Mosuli's Arabic book Al-Awamer wal-Nawahi, whose Urdu translation has been done by Muhammad Sarwar Gohar Sahib under the title Ahkamat o Mamnoaat.
① Sayyiduna Amr bin Al-As رضي الله عنه narrates, the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
إذا حكم الحاكم فاجتهد ثم أصاب فله أجران، وإذا حكم فاجتهد ثم أخطأ فله أجر
"When a judge exercises ijtihad and strives fully in making a decision and arrives at the correct judgment, he receives two rewards. And if he makes a wrong judgment despite ijtihad, he still receives one reward."

① Sayyiduna Abu Saeed رضي الله عنه narrates, the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said:
من أكل طيبا وعمل فى سنة وأمن الناس بوائقه دخل الجنة
"Whoever eats lawful food, acts according to the Sunnah, and protects people from his evil, then he is among the people of Paradise."
A man asked: O Messenger of Allah! In the present time, there are many such people. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said:
وسيكون فى قرون بعدي
"Will they be in the time after me?"

Commands to follow the way of the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم and the Companions رضي الله عنهم
① Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin Aas رضي الله عنهما narrates, the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
ليأتين على أمتي ما أتى على بني إسرائيل حذو النعل بالنعل حتى إن كان منهم من أتى أمه علانية لكان فى أمتي من يصنع ذلك، وإن بني إسرائيل تفرقت على ثنتين وسبعين ملة، وستفترق أمتي على ثلاث وسبعين ملة كلهم فى النار إلا ملة واحدة
"My Ummah will also face the conditions that befell the Children of Israel. They will be so equal among themselves as a shoe is equal to another shoe. Until if any one of them openly establishes a bad relationship with his mother, there will be such a person in my Ummah as well. And the Children of Israel were divided into better sects, and my Ummah will be divided into seventy-three sects, all except one will enter Hell."
The Companions رضي الله عنهم asked: Which group is that? The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
من كان على ما أنا عليه وأصحابي
"The one whose actions are according to my actions and those of my noble Companions رضي الله عنهم."
