Rulings of Fasting in Ramadan

① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
من صام رمضان إيمانا واحتسابا دخل الجنة وغفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه
"Whoever fasts in Ramadan out of faith and seeking reward, will enter Paradise and all his previous sins will be forgiven."
Reference: Bukhari, Book of Fasting 1901. Muslim, Book of Fasting 759. Abu Dawood, Book of Fasting 1371.

② It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
من صام رمضان إيمانا واحتسابا غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه ، ومن قام ليلة القدر غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه
"Whoever fasts with faith and seeking reward, his previous sins are forgiven, and whoever stands in prayer on the Night of Decree (Laylat al-Qadr), his previous sins are also forgiven."
Reference: Bukhari, Book of Fasting 1901. Muslim, Book of Fasting 759.

The Virtue of Six Days of Fasting in Shawwal

① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub Ansari رضي الله عنه that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
من صام رمضان وأتبعه بستة من شوال كان كصيام الدهر
"Whoever fasts during Ramadan and then fasts six days of Shawwal, it is as if he fasted continuously forever."
Reference: Muslim, Book of Fasting 1164. Abu Dawood, Book of Fasting 2433.

The Virtue of Fasting in Dhu al-Hijjah

① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه that the Noble Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
ما من أيام أحب إلى الله أن يتعبد فيها من عشر ذي الحجة ، يعدل صيام يوم منها بصيام سنة ، وقيام كل ليلة منها لقيام ليلة القدر
"Allah loves the worship during the ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah more than the worship of other days. Fasting one day of it is like fasting for a year. And every night of it is like the night prayer of Laylat al-Qadr."
Reference: Tirmidhi, Book of Fasting 758. This narration is weak. In its chain, Nuhas bin Qatham is weak.
