The Ruling on Bequeathing Something Other Than Wealth


The bequest mentioned in the Prophetic statement—that if a Muslim has something to bequeath, he should not let two nights pass without having it in written form—relates specifically to wealth. However, a bequest that involves giving beneficial advice to people can be shared during one’s lifetime in the form of advertisements or writings in books, and it can continue to be shared after one’s death as well.
