What is the ruling on Witr prayer?
Answer:
The Witr prayer is Sunnah Mu’akkadah (an emphasized Sunnah).
❀ Ḥāfiẓ Khaṭṭābī رحمه الله (d. 388H) said:
قد أجمع أهل العلم على أن الوتر ليس بفريضة.
"The scholars are unanimously agreed that Witr is not obligatory."
