This excerpt is taken from Sheikh Abu Hamza Abdul Khaliq Siddiqi's book Sahih Fazail-e-Amaal.
Sayyiduna Saad رضي الله عنه narrates that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: "I wish people knew that Medina is better for them (if) anyone leaves it unwillingly, Allah will replace him with a better person in it, and whoever remains steadfast in its hardships and difficulties, I will be his intercessor and witness on the Day of Judgment."
In another narration, it is said: "Whoever intends evil against the people of Medina, Allah will melt him in the fire like molten lead or dissolved salt."

Sayyiduna Abu Huraira رضي الله عنه narrates that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: "Whoever is patient with the hardships and difficulties of Medina Munawwara, I will be his intercessor and witness on the Day of Judgment."

Sayyiduna Abu Huraira رضي الله عنه narrates that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: "Faith will gather in Medina Munawwara as a snake coils towards its hole."

And Sayyiduna Anas رضي الله عنه narrates from the Noble Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم, who said:
اللهم اجعل بالمدينة ضعفي ما جعلت بمكة من البركة.
"O Allah! As much blessing as You have bestowed in Makkah, bestow twice that blessing in Medina."

And Zaid bin Aslam narrates from his father that Sayyiduna Umar رضي الله عنه prayed:
اللهم ارزقني شهادة فى سبيلك، واجعل موتي فى بلد رسولك.
"O Allah! Grant me martyrdom in Your path. And decree my death in the city of Your Noble Messenger صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم."

Benefit:
"Allah, the Great and Exalted, accepted the two prayers of Amir al-Mu'minin Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, that he was granted martyrdom at death, and that he was buried with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, in the blessed chamber. Thus, his second wish was also fulfilled."
