The Reward of Reforming Actions in the Light of the Quran and Hadith

This excerpt is taken from Sheikh Abu Hamza Abdul Khaliq Siddiqi's book Sahih Fazail-e-Amaal.

The Reward of Reforming Deeds

Although the style of expression is not very bold,
Perhaps my words may enter your heart.
Allah Almighty created humans for His worship, and He did not leave them uncontrolled, but sent Prophets and Messengers, peace be upon them, to explain the ways of worship and guide towards the right path. The Prophets not only conveyed the message of religion to people but also explained the methods to purify the soul from the impurities of disbelief, polytheism, and immorality. In short, they encouraged the purification of the soul and the reform of actions. Therefore, a person who purifies his soul and reforms himself and performs righteous deeds, Allah Almighty has praised such a servant in the Holy Quran:
And those who hold fast to the Book and establish prayer - indeed, We will not allow to be lost the reward of the reformers.

And We send the messengers only as bringers of good tidings and warners. So whoever believes and reforms - there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve. But those who deny Our verses - the punishment will touch them for their disobedience.

Our master Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever wishes to be saved from the Fire and admitted to Paradise, let him die while he believes in Allah and the Last Day, and let him treat the people as he wishes to be treated by them."
