The reward of a content person who barely manages to get by, trusts in Allah Almighty, and does not extend his hand before anyone
Allah Almighty says:
﴿لِلْفُقَرَاءِ الَّذِينَ أُحْصِرُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ ضَرْبًا فِي الْأَرْضِ يَحْسَبُهُمُ الْجَاهِلُ أَغْنِيَاءَ مِنَ التَّعَفُّفِ تَعْرِفُهُم بِسِيمَاهُمْ لَا يَسْأَلُونَ النَّاسَ إِلْحَافًا ۗ وَمَا تُنفِقُوا مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ بِهِ عَلِيمٌ﴾
“Charity is for the poor who are restricted in the way of Allah, unable to move about in the land (to seek livelihood). The ignorant think them to be rich because of their refraining from asking people. You will recognize them by their mark on their faces. They do not beg persistently from people. And whatever good you spend (in the way of Allah), surely Allah knows it well.”

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
قد أفلح من أسلم ورزق كفافا وقنعه الله بما آتاه
“The successful person is the one who has accepted Islam, has been provided sustenance according to his needs, and Allah has made him content with it.”

Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said to me: “O Abu Dharr! Do you think that abundance of wealth is richness?” I said, “Yes, O Messenger of Allah!” He said, “Do you think that lack of wealth is poverty?” I said, “Yes, O Messenger of Allah!” He said, “True richness is the richness of the heart, and true poverty is the poverty of the heart.”
