Is There Any Connection Between Allah's Greatest Name and Healing?
Answer:
Yes, indeed!
When one asks through Allah’s Greatest Name (Ism-e-Azam), Allah grants it.
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that indeed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Allah’s Greatest Name is in these two verses:"
[Al-Baqarah: 163]
"And your deity is one deity. There is no deity except Him, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful."
"Alif, Lam, Meem. Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of all existence."
[Sunan Abu Dawood, Hadith No. 1496; Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith No. 3478]
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that indeed a man supplicated and said:
"O Allah! I ask You by virtue of all praise belonging to You, there is no deity except You, the Bestower of favors, the Originator of the heavens and the earth, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor, O Ever-Living, O Sustainer."
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, he has supplicated to Allah with His Greatest Name, which, when asked by it, He grants, and when supplicated by it, He responds."
[Sunan Abu Dawood, Book of Salah, Chapter on Supplication, Hadith No. 1495; Sahih Ibn Hibban, Hadith No. 893]
Sayyiduna Buraydah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that indeed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) heard a man saying:
"O Allah! I ask You by virtue of You being Allah, there is no deity except You, the One, the Self-Sufficient, who neither begets nor is born, and there is none comparable to Him."
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"He has supplicated to Allah with His Greatest Name, which, when asked by it, He grants, and when supplicated by it, He responds."
[Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith No. 3475; Sunan Abu Dawood, Hadith No. 1493; Mishkat al-Masabih 1/703, Hadith No. 2289]
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that indeed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The Greatest Name of Allah is in three Surahs of the Qur'an: Surah Al-Baqarah, Surah Aal-e-Imran, and Surah Ta-Ha."
[Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith No. 3855; Al-Mu'jam al-Kabir 8/182; Al-Silsilah al-Sahihah 2/382, Hadith No. 746]
Thus, it becomes clear that whatever request, whether for an illness or anything else, is made with the Greatest Name of Allah, Allah grants it.
