The Pre-Muhammad bin Qasim Prophecy and Western Tactics Against Islam

❖ Introduction

This article draws from “Muḥāḍarāt-e-Sīrah” by Dr. Mahmood Ahmad Ghazi (رحمه الله) and was published with permission from Īqāẓ magazine. It highlights the consistent strategies used by opponents of Islam—especially in modern times—aimed at undermining Muslim unity, sowing doubts, and eroding reverence for the Qur’an and the Prophet ﷺ.

❖ The Claim of Linguistic Errors in the Qur’an

A multi-volume book compiling Western Orientalist writings on the Qur’an included the bizarre claim that the Qur’an contains grammatical and syntactic errors. This assertion was propagated with unusual force.

When presented with this claim during an academic exchange abroad, the author refuted it using a logical analogy:
  • If discrepancies exist between Shakespeare’s English and modern English grammar books, do we question Shakespeare or the grammar book? Clearly, Shakespeare is the authority.
  • Similarly, classical Arabic grammar books were written nearly two centuries after the Qur’an was revealed, often by non-Arabs.
  • If the Qur’an had contained any linguistic flaws, the Arab polytheists and critics of the time—known for their eloquence—would have exploited them. Instead, even they stood in awe of the Qur’an’s unparalleled eloquence.
  • Therefore, the Qur’an itself is the ultimate reference for classical Arabic, and any grammar that appears contrary to it is incorrect.

❖ The Prophetic Allegory Before Muhammad bin Qasim

According to the Chach Nāmah, a striking tale unfolds before the arrival of Muhammad bin Qasim in India:
  • A Hindu king received advice from a court astrologer: if he performed a certain immoral act, he would retain his kingdom. The king was reluctant due to the shame associated with such an act.
  • The minister, Budhiman, staged an experiment to prove that public reactions fade quickly:
    • A peculiar sheep, made to look like an elephant using hair and spices, was paraded in the city.
    • Day 1: Mass fascination.
    • Day 2: Fewer onlookers.
    • Day 3: No one cared.
  • Budhiman concluded: public memory is short, and people forget even the most shocking events.

❖ Western Replication of Budhiman’s Strategy

Some believe that Western powers have adapted this very tactic:
  • Repeated incidents of blasphemy—against the Prophet ﷺ—are not coincidental, but strategic provocations.
  • Their intent is to desensitize Muslims until a day comes (God forbid) when such acts no longer spark outrage.
  • That day would signal the next phase of their plan: to sever Muslims’ emotional and spiritual connection to their Prophet ﷺ.

These efforts are backed by think tanks and research institutes that study Muslim societies and manipulate responses.

❖ Colonial-Era Tactics: Dividing Muslim Unity

This strategy is not new:
  • For over two centuries, Muslims have been drawn into secondary and divisive issues.
  • In the 19th century, under British colonial rule, groups like Arya Samaj and Brahmo Samaj emerged—not independently, but with British support—to attack Islamic beliefs.
  • Questions regarding the Prophet’s biography and character—never debated in earlier eras—began surfacing.
  • These ideological offensives were not spontaneous; they were part of a calculated ideological war.

❖ Conclusion

✔ The Qur’an is linguistically perfect and divinely protected.
✔ Accusations of grammatical flaws are baseless, historically and intellectually.
✔ The Budhiman strategy of normalizing blasphemy is a real and observable pattern in modern global politics.
✔ Muslims must stay vigilant, united, and deeply connected to the Sunnah and Sīrah to withstand these ideological attacks.
