"O you who believe! Do not take your fathers and brothers as allies if they prefer disbelief over faith. And whoever among you allies with them—it is they who are the wrongdoers."
(Surah At-Tawbah: 23)
"I will not be a witness to injustice."
(Sunan Abi Dawood)
If an act involves disbelief or oppression, bearing witness to it is impermissible. Since becoming a Qadiani is a major deviation and an act of disbelief, being a witness to such a person's marriage is an undesirable and forbidden act.
"O you who believe! Stand firmly for justice, as witnesses for Allah, even if it is against yourselves, your parents, or your relatives."
(Surah An-Nisa: 135)
According to Islamic principles, testimony must always be based on truth and justice. If disbelief or apostasy is involved, even a person who claims to be a believer at heart must refrain from testifying in such matters.
❖ Question:
A person becomes a Qadiani to go abroad, and another individual, who is a Muslim at heart, acts as a witness to this Qadiani's marriage. Please explain this matter in the light of the Qur'an and Sunnah.❖ Answer:
According to Islamic teachings, Qadianism or apostasy in any form is a grave sin. A person who abandons Islam and embraces Qadianism or any other false creed deviates from the core tenets of Islam. It is not permissible in Shari'ah to be a witness to such a person’s marriage or to assist in any way.❖ Befriending Disbelievers:
Allah ﷻ has clearly stated in the Qur'an that believers must not maintain friendly ties with disbelievers or apostates:"O you who believe! Do not take your fathers and brothers as allies if they prefer disbelief over faith. And whoever among you allies with them—it is they who are the wrongdoers."
(Surah At-Tawbah: 23)
