It is narrated from Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her: The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ sent a man on an expedition. That man used to lead his companions in prayer, and he would end the prayer by reciting Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad. When the people returned, this was mentioned to the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ said: Ask them why they adopted this practice. When the people asked, they said that they did so because this is an attribute of Allah and they cherished reciting it. The Prophet ﷺ said: Tell them that Allah also cherishes it.

Reason for Revelation:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ubayy ibn Ka'b, may Allah be pleased with him, that the polytheists said: O Muhammad ﷺ! Describe the lineage of your Lord to us. Upon this, Allah the Exalted revealed these verses:

[Difference between Ghazwa and Sariyah]
When Ghazwa and Sariyah are used together, there will be a difference in the meanings of both.
Ghazwa:
An army in which the Prophet (peace be upon him) himself is present. (For example) Badr, Uhud, Tabuk, etc.
Sariyah:
An army which the Prophet (peace be upon him) arranges and sends but does not go himself.
◈ When Ghazwa and Sariyah are used alone, Ghazwa can mean Sariyah, and Sariyah can mean Ghazwa.
(Some Arabic words are like this: اذا اجتمع تفرّق واذا تفرّق اجتمع)
◈ From this Hadith, it is proven that in one Rak'ah of a "Fard prayer," two Surahs can be recited together.
◈ From this Hadith, the virtue of the belief in the Names and Attributes of Allah is established.
◈ This Hadith negates the lineage of Allah and mentions the attributes of Ar-Rahman.
In [لَمۡ يَلِدۡ وَلَمۡ يُولَدۡ], the negation of lineage is present.
◈ This Surah is such a comprehensive Surah of Tawheed that it combines both negation and affirmation foundations.
In __ARABIC_5, there is affirmation.
In ARABIC_6__, there is negation (and these are sentences of negation).
◈ Through the knowledge of Allah’s Names and Attributes, the love of Allah, the Lord of Glory, will be attained.
◈ This Surah contains the attributes of Ar-Rahman both in negation and affirmation.
◈ This Surah consists of تنزیہ.

◈ From this Hadith, the virtue of knowledge of the Names and Attributes is established. When a servant makes an effort to learn the knowledge of the Names and Attributes and loves the Names and Attributes (meaning) to understand the Names and Attributes and to firmly adhere to the belief that emerges from this understanding and to remain steadfast. Call upon Allah, the Lord of Glory, by His Names and acquire knowledge of the Names and Attributes. Whoever loves Allah’s Names and Attributes becomes beloved to Allah. And the one who loves Allah’s Names and Attributes is given the glad tidings of Paradise.
