Question:

What was the first naskh (abrogation) in the Qur’an?

Answer:

Abrogation (naskh) did occur in the Qur’an. The first ruling that was abrogated was the change of the qiblah, and the scholars are unanimous on this.

ʿAllāmah Abū ʿAbdillāh al-Qurṭubī رحمه الله (d. 671H) said:
أجمع العلماء على أن القبلة أول ما نسخ من القرآن.

"The scholars are unanimous that the first abrogation in the Qur’an was concerning the qiblah."
(Tafsīr al-Qurṭubī: 2/151)
