The Example of Shayṭān’s Dominance and the Misguidance of Man

Authored by: Dr. Riḍā ʿAbdullāh Pāshā (حفظه الله)
Can Dominance Be Attributed to Shayṭān?

Answer:

Allah (ﷻ) says:

(Surah al-Aʿrāf 175)
“And recite to them the story of the one to whom We gave Our signs, but he detached himself from them; so Shayṭān pursued him, and he became of those who went astray.”

Among the Children of Israel, there was a man who even knew the Greatest Name of Allah. However, when he disbelieved, Allah cursed him and Shayṭān gained dominance over him. He lost all his obedience and righteousness. Thus, Allah says:

“…so he became of those who went astray.”

And Allah knows best.
