This excerpt is taken from the book by Fazilat-ul-Sheikh Abdul Salam Rustami From Denial of Hadith to Denial of Quran.
Chapter 2: Mutawatir Ahadith Regarding the Descent of Jesus (peace be upon him)
In this chapter, we have made an effort to narrate many hadiths so that every rational person may be convinced that so many Imams of Hadith and so many narrations cannot be false; rather, the person who considers all these narrations of hadith to be false will be the liar.
Ibn Kathir, may Allah have mercy on him, has mentioned ten chains of narration regarding the descent of Jesus, peace be upon him. Imam Tirmidhi, may Allah have mercy on him, said that the hadiths about the descent of Jesus, peace be upon him, and the killing of the Dajjal are narrated from the following companions, may Allah be pleased with them: Imran bin Husain, Nafi' bin 'Uyaynah, Abu Burzah Aslami, Hudhayfah bin Asid, Abu Hurairah, Kaysan, Uthman bin Abi al-'As, Jabir, Abu Umamah, Ibn Mas'ud, Ibn 'Amr, Samrah bin Jundub, Nawas bin Sam'an, 'Amr bin 'Awf, and Hudhayfah bin Yaman, may Allah be pleased with them.
Ibn Kathir, Ibn Jarir, Ibn 'Atiyyah, Abu Hayyan, may Allah have mercy on them, and other commentators have said that these hadiths are mutawatir (mass-transmitted). The hadiths are as follows:
➊ Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reports that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
والذي نفسي بيده ليوشكن أن ينزل فيكم ابن مريم حكما عدلا فيكسر الصليب ويقتل الخنزير ويضع الجزية ويفيض المال حتى لا يقبله أحد حتى تكون السجدة الواحدة خير من الدنيا وما فيها ثم يقول أبو هريرة واقرؤوا إن شئتم وإن من أهل الكتاب إلا ليؤمنن به قبل موته ويوم القيامة يكون عليهم شهيدا
"By the One in Whose hand is my soul! Surely, the son of Mary will soon descend among you. He will come as a just ruler. He will break the cross, kill the pig, abolish the jizya (tax), and wealth will be so abundant that no one will accept it. Indeed, one prostration will be better than the world and whatever is in it."
Then Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, said: If you wish, recite this verse, and all the People of the Book will believe in him before his death, and he will testify against them on the Day of Resurrection.

Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reports that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
كيف أنتم إذا نزل ابن مريم فيكم وإمامكم منكم
"What will be your condition when the son of Mary descends among you, and your leader will be from among you."

And Imam Muslim, may Allah have mercy on him, added these words: Ibn Abu Dhi'b said: "Your leader will be from among you" means that Jesus, peace be upon him, will judge according to the Book of your Lord and the Sunnah of your Prophet, peace be upon him.
➋ Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates from the Prophet, peace be upon him, that he said:
يمكث عيسى فى الأرض بعد ما ينزل أربعين سنة ثم يموت ويصلي عليه المسلمون ويدفنونه
"Jesus, peace be upon him, will live on earth for forty years after his descent, then he will die, and the Muslims will perform his funeral prayer and bury him."

➌ Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reports that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
لم يسلط على قتل الدجال إلا عيسى ابن مريم
"Only Jesus son of Mary has been appointed and empowered to kill the Dajjal."
➍ Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
يقتل ابن مريم الدجال بباب لد
"The son of Mary will kill the Dajjal at Bab al-Ludd."

➎ Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reports that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
والذي نفسي بيده ليهلن ابن مريم من فج الروحاء بالحج أو بالعمرة أو ليثنينهما
"By the One in Whose hand is my soul! The son of Mary will certainly perform the Talbiyah from Maqam al-Faj al-Ruhha for Hajj or Umrah or both."

➏ Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
لا ينزل الدجال المدينة ولكنه ينزل بين الخندق وعلى كل نقب منها ملائكة يحرسونها فأول من يتبعه النساء والإماء فيذهب فيتبعه الناس فيؤذونه فيرجع غضبان حتى ينزل الخندق فينزل عند ذلك عيسى ابن مريم
"The Dajjal will not enter Medina, but he will reach as far as the trench. Angels will guard all the roads of Medina. First, women and maidservants will follow him, then people will follow him and harm him, so he will return in anger until he reaches the trench. Then Jesus son of Mary, peace be upon him, will descend."

➐ Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said:
الأنبياء إخوة لعلات أمهاتهم شتى ودينهم واحد وأنا أولى الناس بعيسى ابن مريم لأنه لم يكن بيني وبينه نبي فإذا رأيتموه فاعرفوه فإنه رجل مربوع الخلق إلى الحمرة والبياض سبط الرأس كأن رأسه يقطر وإن لم يصبه بلل بين ممصرتين فيدق الصليب ويقتل الخنزير ويضع الجزية ويقاتل الناس على الإسلام حتى يهلك الله فى زمانه الملل كلها غير الإسلام ويهلك الله فى زمانه مسيح الضلالة الكذاب الدجال وتقع الأمانة فى زمانه فى الأرض حتى ترتع الأسود مع الإبل والنمور مع البقر والذئاب مع الغنم ويلعب الصبيان مع الحيات لا يضر بعضهم بعضا فيلبث فى الأرض ما شاء الله ثم يتوفى فيصلي عليه المسلمون
"The Prophets, peace be upon them, are brothers in faith. Their father is one, but their mothers are different, and their religion is one. I have more right and relation to Jesus son of Mary because there is no prophet between me and him. So when you see him, recognize him as a man of medium height, reddish-white complexion, and straight hair, as if water is dripping from his hair though it is not wet. He will be dressed in yellowish clothes. He will break the cross, kill the pig, abolish the jizya, fight against those who oppose Islam until Allah will eliminate all non-Islamic religions in his time, and Allah will kill the misleading false Messiah, the Dajjal, in his time. Peace will be established on earth in his time, so that the black snake will graze with camels, the cheetah with cows, and the wolf with goats, and children will play with snakes. No one will harm anyone, and they will live on earth as long as Allah wills, then they will die, and Muslims will perform their funeral prayer."

➑ Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
لا تقوم الساعة حتى تنزل الروم بالأعماق أو بدابق فيخرج إليهم جيش من المدينة من خيار أهل الأرض يومئذ فإذا تصافوا قالت الروم خلوا بيننا وبين الذين سبوا منا نقاتلهم فيقول المسلمون لا والله لا نخلي بينكم وبين إخواننا فيقاتلونهم فينهزم ثلث لا يتوب الله عليهم أبدا ويقتل ثلثهم أفضل الشهداء عند الله ويفتح الثلث لا يفتنون أبدا فيفتتحون قسطنطينية فبينما هم يقتسمون الغنائم قد علقوا سيوفهم بالزيتون إذ صاح فيهم الشيطان إن المسيح قد خلفكم فى أهليكم فيخرجون وذلك باطل فإذا جاءوا الشام خرج فبيناهم يعدون للقتال يسوون الصفوف إذ أقيمت الصلاة فينزل عيسى ابن مريم فأمهم فإذا رآه عدو الله ذاب كما يذوب الملح فى الماء فلو تركه لانذاب حتى يهلك ولكن يقتله الله بيده فيريهم دمه فى حربته
"The Hour will not be established until the Romans camp at Al-Amaq or Dabiq near Aleppo. Then a force of the best people of that era will set out from Medina to confront them. When the two armies line up, the Romans will say: 'Make way for those who took our companions captive, so we may fight them.' The Muslims will say: 'By Allah, we will never separate from our brothers.' Then they will fight, and one-third of them will flee. Allah will never accept their repentance. One-third will be martyred and will be the best martyrs with Allah, and one-third will be victorious and never afflicted by tribulation. They will conquer Constantinople. They will be dividing the spoils while their swords hang on olive trees, when Satan will shout loudly: 'Indeed, the Messiah (Dajjal) has come behind you among your family.' So they will depart, although this news will be false. When they reach the land of Sham, he will emerge. While they are preparing for battle and arranging ranks, the call for prayer will be made, and Jesus son of Mary, peace be upon him, will descend. He will lead them in prayer. When Allah's enemy sees him, he will melt like salt dissolves in water. If Jesus leaves him alone, he will perish by himself, but Allah will kill him by his hand, and he will show his blood on his spear."

➒ Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that he heard Abu al-Qasim the truthful say:
يخرج أعور الدجال مسيح الضلالة قبل المشرق فى زمن اختلاف من الناس وفرقة فيبلغ ما شاء الله أن يبلغ من الأرض فى أربعين يوما الله أعلم ما مقدارها فيلقى المؤمنون شدة شديدة ثم ينزل عيسى ابن مريم من السماء فيؤم الناس فإذا رفع رأسه من ركعته قال سمع الله لمن حمده قتل الله المسيح الدجال وظهر المسلمون فأحلف أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أبا القاسم الصادق المصدوق قال إنه لحق وأما أنه قريب فكل ما هو آت فهو قريب
"The Dajjal, the false Messiah, will emerge from the East during a time of discord and division among the people. He will conquer a portion of the earth in forty days, as much as Allah wills, and Allah knows best its extent. The believers will face great hardship. Then Jesus son of Mary will descend from the sky while people are standing (for prayer). When he rises from bowing, he will say: 'Allah has heard those who praise Him,' and these words: 'May Allah kill the false Messiah, and may the believers be victorious.' Abu Hurairah swore that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, who is truthful and trustworthy, said: 'Indeed, this is the truth. Indeed, it is near. So everything that is coming is near.'"

➓ Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
يوشك أن ينزل فيكم ابن مريم إماما مقسطا فيصلي الصلوات الخمس ويجمع الجمع ويزيد فى الحلال
"The son of Mary, peace be upon him, will soon come as a just and fair leader, will perform the five prayers, will perform Friday prayer, and will increase lawful things."
The narrator Abu Ash'ath said: Abu Hurairah! By Allah! I think he will increase lawful things only in matters of women. Then Abu Hurairah looked at me and smiled and said: You have certainly spoken correctly.

❀ Kaysan, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that he heard the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, say:
ينزل عيسى ابن مريم عند المنارة البيضاء شرقي دمشق
"Jesus son of Mary, peace be upon him, will descend on the eastern white minaret of Damascus."

❀ Abdullah bin Amr, may Allah be pleased with them both, narrates that a man came to him and said: What is this hadith you narrate? You say: At such and such time the Hour will be established. He said: Allah is pure, or said: There is no deity but Allah, or said a similar phrase. I intended never to narrate anything to anyone. I only said: You will see a great matter after a short time. The House of Allah will be burned, and such and such will happen. Then he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
يخرج الدجال فى أمتي فيمكث أربعين لا أدري أربعين يوما أو أربعين شهرا أو أربعين عاما فيبعث الله عيسى ابن مريم كأنه عروة ابن مسعود فيطلبه فيهلكه ثم يمكث الناس سبع سنين ليس بين اثنين عداوة ثم يرسل الله ريحا باردة من قبل الشام فلا يبقى على وجه الأرض أحد فى قلبه مثقال ذرة من خير أو إيمان إلا قبضته
"The Dajjal will emerge among my nation and will remain for forty. I do not know if it is forty days, or forty months, or forty years. Then Allah will send Jesus son of Mary, peace be upon him, who will be like 'Urwah bin Mas'ud. They will seek him and kill him. Then people will live for seven years in a state where there will be no enmity between two people. Then Allah will send a cold wind from the direction of Sham, and no person will remain on earth whose heart contains even an atom of goodness or faith, and this wind will take their souls."

❀ Majma' bin Jariyah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that he heard the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, say:
يقتل ابن مريم الدجال بباب لد
"The son of Mary, peace be upon him, will kill the Dajjal at Bab al-Ludd."

❀ Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, came to me while I was crying. He said:
ما يبكيك فقلت يا رسول الله ذكرت الدجال قال فلا تبكي فإن يخرج وأنا حي أكفيكموه وإن أمت فإن ربكم ليس بأعور وإنه يخرج معه يهود أصبهان فيسير حتى ينزل بضاحية المدينة ولها يومئذ سبعة أبواب على كل ملكان فيخرج إليه شرار أهلها فينطلق حتى يأتى لدا فينزل عيسى ابن مريم فيقتله ثم يمكث عيسى فى الأرض أربعين سنة أو قريبا من أربعين سنة إماما عادلا وحكما مقسطا
"Why are you crying?" I said: O Messenger of Allah! I remembered the trial of the Dajjal. He said: "Do not cry. If he emerges during my lifetime, I will be sufficient for you all against him. And if I die, your Lord will be sufficient. Indeed, the Dajjal will emerge, and the Jews of Isfahan will be with him. He will travel around the world until he camps near Medina. At that time, Medina will have seven gates, and at each gate will be two angels. The wicked people of Medina will come out and follow him. Then he will depart until he reaches Ludd, and then Jesus son of Mary, peace be upon him, will descend and kill him. Then Jesus, peace be upon him, will live on earth for forty years or approximately forty years as a just and fair ruler."

❀ Nawas bin Sam'an, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that one morning the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, mentioned the Dajjal and during that time he lowered and raised his voice so much that we thought he had entered the palm trees. When we came to him in the evening, he noticed the effect on us and said: What is wrong with you? We said: O Messenger of Allah! You mentioned the Dajjal this morning and raised and lowered your voice so much that we thought he had entered the palm groves. He said:
غير الدجال أخوفني عليكم إن يخرج وأنا فيكم فأنا حجيجه دونكم وإن يخرج ولست فيكم فامرؤ حجيج نفسه والله خليفتي على كل مسلم إنه شاب قطط عينه طافئة كأني أشبهه بعبد العزى بن قطن فمن أدركه منكم فليقرأ عليه فواتح سورة الكهف إنه خارج خلة بين الشام والعراق فعاث يمينا وعاث شمالا يا عباد الله فاثبتوا قلنا يا رسول الله وما لبثه فى الأرض قال أربعون يوما يوم كسنة ويوم كشهر ويوم كجمعة وسائر أيامه كأيامكم قلنا يا رسول الله فذلك اليوم الذى كسنة أتكفينا فيه صلاة يوم قال لا اقدروا له قدره قلنا يا رسول الله وما إسراعه فى الأرض قال كالغيث استدبرته الريح فيأتي على القوم فيدعوهم فيؤمنون به ويستجيبون له فيأمر السماء فتمطر والأرض فتنبت فتروح عليهم سارحتهم أطول ما كانت ذرى وأسبغه ضروعا وأمده خواصر ثم يأتى القوم فيدعوهم فيردون عليه قوله فينصرف عنهم فيصبحون ممحلين ليس بأيديهم شيء من أموالهم ويمر بالخربة فيقول لها أخرجي كنوزك فتتبعه كنوزها كيعاسيب النحل ثم يدعو رجلا ممتلئا شبابا فيضربه بالسيف فيقطعه جزلتين رمية الغرض ثم يدعوه فيقبل ويتهلل وجهه ويضحك فبينما هو كذلك إذ بعث الله المسيح ابن مريم فينزل عند المنارة البيضاء شرقي دمشق بين مهرودتين واضعا كفيه على أجنحة ملكين إذا طأطأ رأسه قطر وإذا رفعه تحدر منه جمان كاللؤلؤ فلا يحل لكافر يجد ريح نفسه إلا مات ونفسه ينتهي حيث ينتهي طرفه فيطلبه حتى يدركه بباب لد فيقتله ثم يأتى عيسى ابن مريم قوم قد عصمهم الله منه فيمسح عن وجوههم ويحدثهم بدرجاتهم فى الجنة فبينما هو كذلك إذ أوحى الله إلى عيسى إني قد أخرجت عبادا لي لا يدان لأحد بقتالهم فحرز عبادي إلى الطور ويبعث الله يأجوج ومأجوج وهم من كل حدب ينسلون فيمر أوائلهم على بحيرة طبرية فيشربون ما فيها ويمر آخرهم فيقولون لقد كان بهذه مرة ماء ويحصر نبي الله عيسى وأصحابه حتى يكون رأس الثور لأحدهم خيرا من مائة دينار لأحدكم اليوم فيرغب نبي الله عيسى وأصحابه فيرسل الله عليهم النغف فى رقابهم فيصبحون فرسى كموت نفس واحدة ثم يهبط نبي الله عيسى وأصحابه إلى الأرض فلا يجدون فى الأرض موضع شبر إلا ملأه زهمهم ونتنهم فيرغب نبي الله عيسى وأصحابه إلى الله فيرسل الله طيرا كأعناق البخت فتحملهم فتطرحهم حيث شاء الله ثم يرسل الله مطرا لا يكن منه بيت مدر ولا وبر فيغسل الأرض حتى يتركها كالزلقة ثم يقال للأرض أنبتي ثمرتك وردي بركتك فيومئذ تأكل العصابة من الرمانة ويستظلون بقحفها ويبارك فى الرسل حتى إن اللقحة من الإبل لتكفي الفئام من الناس واللقحة من البقر لتكفي القبيلة من الناس واللقحة من الغنم لتكفي الفخذ من الناس فبيناهم كذلك إذ بعث الله ريحا طيبة فتأخذهم تحت آباطهم فتقبض روح كل مؤمن وكل مسلم ويبقى شرار الناس يتهارجون فيها تهارج الحمر فعليهم تقوم الساعة
"I fear for you more than anything except the Dajjal. If he emerges in my presence, I will protect you from him. If he emerges when I am not among you, then every person must protect himself. For every Muslim, Allah is my successor and guardian. He (the Dajjal) will be a young man with curly hair. His eye will be protruding, and I liken him to 'Abd al-'Uzzā bin Qatan. Whoever among you meets him should recite the beginning of Surah al-Kahf over him. He will emerge from the road between Sham and Iraq and will cause corruption on the right and left. O servants of Allah! Be steadfast." We said: O Messenger of Allah! How long will he remain on earth? He said: "Forty days, one of which will be like a year, one like a month, one like a week, and the rest like your days." We said: O Messenger of Allah! Will our prayers be sufficient for that day which is like a year? He said: "No! You should estimate accordingly." We said: O Messenger of Allah! How fast will he move on earth? He said: "Like the rain driven by the wind from behind." He will come to a people and invite them, and they will believe in him and accept his words. He will command the sky to rain, and it will rain. He will command the earth to grow vegetation, and it will grow. Their cattle will come grazing to them with humps already long, udders full, and wombs protruding. Then he will come to another people and invite them, but they will not accept his invitation. When he leaves them, drought and famine will come upon them, and their hands will be empty of wealth. He will pass by a desolate place and say: Bring out your treasure, and their treasures will follow him like bees follow honey. Then he will call a strong young man and strike him with a sword, cutting him into two pieces as if he were tied for target practice. Then he will call him, and he will come before him with a radiant face and smiling. Meanwhile, Allah will send Jesus son of Mary, peace be upon him, who will descend on the eastern white minaret of Damascus. He will be dressed in yellow clothes and will place both hands on the wings of two angels. When he bows, sweat will drip, and when he raises his head, drops like pearls will fall. Whoever inhales the breath of your exhalation will die immediately, and the vapor will spread as far as the eye can see. You will seek him (the Dajjal) until you find him at Bab al-Ludd and kill him. Then Jesus, peace be upon him, will come to a people whom Allah has protected from the Dajjal. He will gently stroke their faces and inform them of their ranks in Paradise. Meanwhile, Allah will send revelation to Jesus, peace be upon him, that He has sent some servants whom no one can fight, so take My servants to Mount Tur. Allah will send Gog and Magog, and they will emerge from every high place. The first of them will pass by the Sea of Tiberias and drink all its water. When the last of them passes, they will say: There was water here once. The Prophet of Allah, Jesus, peace be upon him, and his companions will be besieged until a bull's head is better than a hundred dinars. Then Jesus, peace be upon him, and his companions will pray to Allah, and Allah will send worms into their necks, and by morning they will all die as a man dies. Then Jesus, peace be upon him, and his companions will descend to earth and will not find a place the size of a mattress without decayed, foul-smelling corpses. Then Jesus, peace be upon him, and his companions will pray to Allah, and Allah will send birds like the necks of Bactrian camels that will carry them and throw them wherever Allah wills. Then Allah will send such rain that no house or tent will remain unwashed, and the earth will become as clean as a basin or garden. Then the earth will be commanded to bring forth its fruits and return its blessings. On that day, a group will eat a pomegranate and sit under its peel's shade. Milk will be blessed so that one milking she-camel will suffice a large group of people, one milking cow will suffice a tribe, and one milking goat will suffice a family. They will be in such a state that Allah will send a pure wind that will touch under their armpits and take the soul of every believing Muslim. Only the wicked will remain, and they will fight among themselves like hyenas. Such people will face the Hour."

❀ Nawas bin Sam'an, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that he heard the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, say: "Jesus son of Mary, peace be upon him, will descend on the eastern white minaret of Damascus and will find the Dajjal at Bab al-Ludd and kill him."

❀ Hudhayfah bin Asid al-Ghifari, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Prophet, peace be upon him, came to them while they were discussing. He said: "What are you discussing?" They said: We were discussing the Hour. He said:
إنها لن تقوم حتى ترون قبلها عشر آيات فذكر الدخان والدجال والدابة وطلوع الشمس من مغربها ونزول عيسى ابن مريم ويأجوج ومأجوج وثلاثة خسوف خسف بالمشرق وخسف بالمغرب وخسف بجزيرة العرب وآخر ذلك نار تخرج من اليمن تطرد الناس إلى محشرهم
"The Hour will not be established until ten signs occur before it: smoke, the Dajjal, the beast, the sun rising from the west, the descent of Jesus son of Mary, the emergence of Gog and Magog, the earth swallowing three times — once in the east, once in the west, and once in the Arabian Peninsula. Finally, a fire will emerge from Yemen that will drive people to their gathering place (the resurrection)."

❀ Hudhayfah bin Yaman, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
أنا أعلم بما مع الدجال منه نهران أحدهما نار تأجج فى عين من رآه والآخر ماء أبيض فإن أدركه منكم أحد فليغمض وليشرب من الذى يراه نارا فإنه ماء بارد وإياكم والآخر فإنه الفتنة واعلموا أنه مكتوب بين عينيه كافر يقرأه من يكتب ومن لا يكتب وأن إحدى عينيه ممسوحة عليها ظفرة أنه يطلع من آخر أمره على بطن الأردن على بيته أفيق وكل واحد يؤمن بالله واليوم الآخر ببطن الأردن وأنه يقتل من المسلمين ثلثا ويهزم ثلثا ويبقى ثلثا ويجن عليهم الليل فيقول بعض المؤمنين لبعض ما تنتظرون أن تلحقوا بإخوانكم فى مرضاة ربكم من كان عنده فضل طعام فليغد به على أخيه وصلوا حين ينفجر الفجر وعجلوا الصلاة ثم أقبلوا على عدوكم فلما قاموا يصلون نزل عيسى ابن مريم صلوات الله عليه إمامهم فصلى بهم فلما انصرف قال هكذا أفرجوا بيني وبين عدو الله وسلط الله عليهم المسلمين فيقتلونهم حتى أن الشجر والحجر لينادي يا عبد الله يا عبد الرحمن يا مسلم هذا يهودي فاقتله فينفيهم الله ويظهر المسلمون فيكسرون الصليب ويقتلون الخنزير ويضعون الجزية فبينماهم كذلك أخرج الله أهل يأجوج ومأجوج فيشرب أولهم البحيرة ويجيء آخرهم وقد استقوه فما يدعون فيه قطرة فيقولون ظهرنا على أعدائنا قد كان ههنا أثر ماء فيجيء نبي الله وأصحابه وراءه حتى يدخلوا مدينة من مدائن فلسطين يقال لها لد فيقولون ظهرنا على من فى الأرض فتعالوا نقاتل من فى السماء فيدعو الله نبيه عند ذلك فيبعث الله عليهم قرحة فى حلوقهم فلا يبقى منهم بشر فتؤذي ريحهم المسلمين فيدعو عيسى عليهم فيرسل الله عليهم ريحا فتقذفهم فى البحر أجمعين
"I know what will accompany the Dajjal. He will have two rivers. One will appear to the onlooker as a river of blazing fire, and the other as white water. Whoever among you nurtures him should close his eyes and drink from the river he thinks is fire because it is cold water, while the other river is a trial. Know that between his two eyes will be written 'Kafir' (disbeliever), and every literate and illiterate person will read it. He will have one eye missing and a disease called 'nakhna' (a membrane like a nose on the eye). He will reach the middle part of Jordan called Afiq for the last time. Every person in the middle part of Jordan who believes in Allah and the Last Day will fight jihad, and he will kill one-third, one-third will flee, and one-third will remain steadfast. Night will fall on them, and some believers will say among themselves: What are you waiting for to meet your brothers in the pleasure of your Lord? So whoever has extra food should give it to his brother and hasten to pray at dawn, then focus on your enemy. When they stand for prayer, Jesus son of Mary, peace be upon him, will descend and lead them in prayer. When they finish, he will say: 'Thus, bring about a separation between me and the enemy of Allah.' Allah will make the Muslims dominant over them, and they will kill them until trees and stones will say: 'O servant of Allah! O servant of the Most Merciful! O Muslim! This is a Jew; kill him.' Thus, Allah will eliminate them. The Muslims will be victorious. They will break the cross, kill the pig, and abolish the jizya. They will be in this state when Allah will send Gog and Magog. Their first group will drink the entire Sea of Tiberias. When the last group comes, they will ask for water, but none will remain. They will say: We have overcome our enemies. Here was a sign of water. The Prophet of Allah, Jesus, peace be upon him, will come with his companions behind him until they enter a city in Palestine called Ludd. They will say: We have overcome the people of the earth; let us fight the people of the heavens. The Prophet of Allah will pray to Allah, and Allah will send boils on their necks so that no human remains among them. Their foul-smelling wind will harm the Muslims. Jesus, peace be upon him, will pray against them, and Allah will send a wind that will throw them all into the sea."

❀ Hudhayfah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
يخرج الدجال عدو الله معه جنود من اليهود وأصناف الناس معه جنة ونار ورجال يقتلهم ثم يحييهم معه جبل من تريد ونهر من ماء وإني سأنعت لكم نعتا أنه يخرج ممسوح العين فى جبهته مكتوب كافر يقرأ كل من يحسن الكتاب ومن لا يحسن فجنته نار وناره جنة وهو المسيح الكذاب يتبعه من نساء اليهود ثلاث عشر ألف امرأة فرحمه الله رجلا منع سفيته أن تتبعه والقوة عليه يومئذ بالقرآن فإن شأنه بلاء شديد يبعث الله شياطين مشارق الأرض ومغاربها فيقولون له استعن بنا على ما شئت فيقول لهم انطلقوا فأخبروا الناس أني ربهم وأني قد جئتهم بجنتي وناري فتنطلق الشياطين فيدخل على الرجل أكثر من مائة شياطين فيتمثلون له بصورة والده وولده وإخوته ومواليه ورفيقه فيقولون يا فلان أتعرفنا فيقول لهم الرجل نعم هذا أبى وهذه أمي وهذه أختي وهذا أخي ويقول الرجل ما نبأكم فيقولون بل أنت بل أنت فأخبرنا ما نبأك يقول الرجل إنا قد أخبرنا أن عدو الله الدجال قد خرج فيقول له الشياطين مهلا لا تقل هذا فإنه ربكم يريد القضاء فيكم هذه جنته قد جاء بها وناره ومعه الأنهار والطعام فلا طعام إلا ما كان فيه قبله إلا ما شاء الله فيقول الرجل كذبتم ما أنتم إلا شياطين وهو الكذاب قد بلغنا أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قد حدث حديثكم وحذرنا وأنبأنا به فلا مرحبا بكم أنتم الشياطين وهو عدو الله وليسوقن الله عيسى ابن مريم حتى يقتله فيخسأوا فينقلبوا خائبين ثم قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إنما أحدثكم هذا لتعقلوه وتفقهوه وتعوه واعملوا عليه وحدثوا به من خلفكم فليحدث الآخر الآخر فإن فتنته أشد الفتن
"The enemy of Allah, the Dajjal, will emerge with the army of Jews and various people. He will have Paradise and Hell with him. He will kill people and then bring them back to life. He will have a mountain of Tharid (bread soaked in broth) and a river of water. I will now introduce him to you: when he emerges, he will have one eye missing. On his forehead will be written 'Kafir' (disbeliever), and every literate and illiterate person will read it. His Paradise will be Hell, and his Hell will be Paradise. He will be the false Messiah. Thirteen thousand Jewish women will follow him. May Allah have mercy on the one who prevents his wife from following him. On that day, he can be controlled by the power of the Qur'an. His condition is that he is a severe trial. Allah will send devils from the east and west of the earth, and they will say to him: Whomever you want, ask for help from us. He will say: Go and tell people that I am their Lord and that I have brought them my Paradise and Hell. The devils will go, and one person will have more than a hundred devils. They will appear before him as his father, son, brothers, slaves, and companions. They will say: O so-and-so! Do you recognize us? He will say: Yes, these are my father, mother, sister, and brother. The man will ask: What news do you have? They will say: Rather, what news do you have? So tell us your news. The man will say: We have been told that the enemy of Allah, the Dajjal, has emerged. The devils will say: Wait, do not say that because he is your Lord. He wants to judge among you. This is his Paradise which he has brought with him, and this is his Hell. He has rivers, food, and the food is what someone has gathered before, except what Allah wills. The man will say: You are lying; you are only devils, and he is a liar. We have been informed that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, told us about your conditions and warned us about him and told us about him. So you have no welcome. You are devils, and he is the enemy of Allah. Allah will surely send Jesus, peace be upon him, who will kill him, so they will be defeated and return unsuccessful. Then the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: I am telling you this so that you remember him, understand him, preserve him, act upon him, and narrate him to those who come after you. So everyone should narrate this hadith to one another because his trial is the severest trial."

❀ Abdullah bin Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates from the Prophet, peace be upon him, that he said:
يكون بين المسلمين وبين الروم هدنة فى حديث طويل وفي آخره ويفتح الله القسطنطينية على يد أقوام هم أولياء الله يرفع الله عنهم الموت والمرض والسقم حتى ينزل عليهم عيسى ابن مريم فيقاتلون معه الدجال
"There will be a treaty of reconciliation between the Muslims and the Romans. This is a long hadith. At the end, it says: Allah will grant victory over Constantinople to people who are friends of Allah. Allah will remove death, disease, and hardship from them until Jesus son of Mary descends, and they will fight the Dajjal with him."

❀ Talbah bin 'Abbad narrates that he was present at a sermon of Samrah, may Allah be pleased with him, and at the end of the sermon, he said that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
لا تقوم الساعة حتى يخرج ثلاثون كذابا آخرهم الأعور الدجال ممسوح العين اليسرى كأنها عين أبى يحيى لشيخ من الأنصار وأنه متى خرج فإنه يزعم أنه الله فمن آمن به وصدقه واتبعه فليس ينفعه صالح من عمل سلف ومن كفر وكذبه فليس يعاقب بشيء من عمله سلف وأنه سيظهر على الأرض كلها إلا الحرم وبيت المقدس وأنه يحصر المؤمنين فى بيت المقدس فيتزلزلون زلزالا شديدا فيصبح فيهم عيسى ابن مريم فيهزمه الله وجنوده حتى إن أجرم الحائط وأصل الشجر لينادي يا مؤمن هذا كافر يستتر بي فتعال أقتله
"The Hour will not be established until thirty liars emerge. The last of them will be the Dajjal. His left eye will be deformed like the eye of the Ansar elder Abu Yahya, and when he emerges, he will claim to be Allah. Whoever believes in him, confirms him, and follows him, his previous righteous deeds will be of no benefit to him. Whoever denies and rejects him will not be punished for his previous deeds. The Dajjal will dominate the entire land except the sacred sanctuary and Jerusalem. He will besiege the believers in Jerusalem, and they will suffer severe hardship and be shaken. One morning, Jesus son of Mary will appear among them, and Allah will defeat the Dajjal and his army until every wall's foundation and tree trunk will say: O believer! This disbeliever is hiding behind me, so come and kill him."

❀ Jabir bin Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with them both, narrates that he heard the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, say:
لا تزال طائفة من أمتي يقاتلون على الحق ظاهرين إلى يوم القيامة قال فينزل عيسى ابن مريم فيقول أميرهم تعال صل لنا فيقول لا إن بعضكم على بعض أمراء تكرمة الله هذه الأمة
"A group of my nation will continue to fight for the truth and will remain dominant until the Hour is established." He said: "When Jesus, peace be upon him, descends, their leader will say to them: Come and lead us in prayer. He will say: No, indeed some of you are leaders over others. Allah has honored this nation."

In Medina, there was a Jewish boy named Ibn Sa'id who showed some signs of the Dajjal. The Prophet, peace be upon him, feared that he might be the Dajjal, so he visited his house several times to confirm his suspicion, accompanied by other companions. On one occasion, Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, asked permission to kill him, but Jabir, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated in a long hadith the details of these events and said that the Prophet, peace be upon him, replied:
إن يكن هو فلست صاحبه إنما صاحبه عيسى ابن مريم عليه الصلاة والسلام وإن لا يكن هو فليس لك أن تقتل رجلا من أهل العهد
"If he is the Dajjal, then you are not the one appointed to kill him; Jesus son of Mary, peace be upon him, is assigned for this task. And if he is not, then you have no right to kill a protected person."

❀ Jabir, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
يخرج الدجال فى خفقة من الدين وإدبار من العلم فله أربعون ليلة يسيحها فى الأرض اليوم منها كالسنة واليوم منها كالشهر واليوم منها كالجمعة ثم سائر أيامه كأيامكم هذه وله حمار يركبه عرض ما بين أذنيه أربعون ذراعا فيقول للناس أنا ربكم وهو أعور وإن ربكم ليس بأعور مكتوب بين عينيه كافر ك ف ر مهجاة يقرؤه كل مؤمن كاتب وغير كاتب يرد كل ماء ومنهل إلا المدينة ومكة حرمهما الله عليه وقامت الملائكة بأبوابها ومعه جبال من خبز والناس فى جهد إلا من تبعه ومعه نهران أنا أعلم بهما منه نهر يقول الجنة ونهر يقول النار فمن أدخل الذى يسميه الجنة فهو النار ومن أدخل الذى يسميه النار فهو الجنة قال ويبعث الله معه شياطين تكلم الناس ومعه فتنة عظيمة يأمر السماء فتمطر فيما يرى الناس ويقتل نفسا ثم يحييها فيما يرى الناس لا يسلط على غيرها من الناس ويقول أيها الناس هل يفعل مثل هذا إلا الرب عز وجل قال فيفر المسلمون إلى جبل الدخان بالشام فيأتيهم فيحاصرهم فيشتد حصارهم ويجهدهم جهدا شديدا ثم ينزل عيسى ابن مريم فينادي من السحر فيقول يا أيها الناس ما يمنعكم أن تخرجوا إلى الكذاب الخبيث فيقولون هذا رجل جني فينطلقون فإذا هم بعيسى ابن مريم فتقام الصلاة فيقال له تقدم يا روح الله فيقول ليتقدم إمامكم فليصل بكم فإذا صلى صلاة الصبح خرجوا إليه قال فحين يرى الكذاب ينماث كما ينماث الملح فى الماء فيمشي إليه فيقتله حتى أن الشجرة والحجر ينادي يا روح الله هذا يهودي فلا يترك ممن كان يتبعه أحدا إلا قتله
"The Dajjal will appear when religion is weak and knowledge has disappeared. He will be given forty nights. The first day will be like a year, the second like a month, the third like a week, and the rest like your days. He will have a donkey on which he will ride. The distance between his two ears will be forty hands. He will say: I am your Lord, while he is one-eyed, and your Lord is not one-eyed. Between his eyes will be written 'Kafir' (disbeliever) in separate letters K-F-R, and every literate and illiterate believer will read it. He will come to every water source and watering place except Mecca and Medina. Allah has forbidden him from entering these two cities, and angels will stand at their gates. He will have a mountain of bread. Except for his followers, others will be in hardship and distress. He will have two rivers, and I know more about them than others. He will say one river is Paradise and the other is Hell. Whoever enters the river he calls Paradise will find it Hell, and whoever enters the river he calls Hell will find it Paradise. Allah will send devils to talk to people. He will have a great trial: he will command the sky to rain, and it will rain according to people's apparent perception. He will kill a soul and then bring it back to life, and this will be apparent to the eyes (besides this, he will not be imposed on people). He will say: O people! Can anyone besides the Lord do such deeds? Muslims will flee to Jabal Dukhkhan in Sham. The Dajjal will reach them and besiege them severely. He will be very harsh on them. Then Jesus, peace be upon him, will descend and at the time of suhoor (pre-dawn meal) will call out: O people! What prevents you from going to the lying, wicked Dajjal? They will say: He is a jinn. People will go towards the voice, and there will be Jesus, peace be upon him. The call for prayer will be made, and they will be asked: Spirit of Allah! Come forward. He will say: Your leader should come forward and lead you in prayer. When they finish the dawn prayer, they will proceed towards the Dajjal. When the liar sees Jesus, peace be upon him, he will melt like salt dissolves in water. They will go to him and kill him until trees and stones say: Spirit of Allah! This is a Jew. They will kill all his followers and leave none."

Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, regarding Allah's statement:
وَإِنَّهُ لَعِلْمٌ لِّلسَّاعَةِ فَلَا تَمْتَرُنَّ بِهَا
"Indeed, they are a sign of the Hour, so do not doubt it."

narrates from the Prophet, peace be upon him, that he said:
نزول عيسى ابن مريم من قبل يوم القيامة
"(This sign means) the descent of Jesus, peace be upon him, before the Hour."

❀ Thawban, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, narrates that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said:
عصابتان من أمتي أحرزهما الله من النار عصابة تغزو الهند وعصابة تكون مع عيسى ابن مريم عليه السلام
"My nation will have two groups whom Allah will save from the fire. One group will fight jihad from India, and the other group will be with Jesus son of Mary, peace be upon him."

❀ Abdullah bin Mughaffal, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
ما أهبط الله إلى الأرض منذ خلق الله آدم إلى أن تقوم الساعة فتنة أعظم من فتنة الدجال وقد قلت فيه قولا لم يقله أحد قبلي إنه آدم جعد ممسوح عين اليسار على عينه ظفرة غليظة وإنه يبرئ الأكمه والأبرص ويقول أنا ربكم فمن قال ربي الله فلا فتنة عليه ومن قال أنت ربي فقد افتتن يلبث فيكم ما شاء الله ثم ينزل عيسى ابن مريم مصدقا لمحمد وعلى ملته إماما مهديا وحكما عدلا فيقتل الدجال
"Since Allah created Adam, from that time until the establishment of the Hour, no trial greater than the Dajjal has descended from the sky to the earth. I have spoken about him in a way that no one before me has spoken. He is wheat-colored, with curly hair, and his left eye is deformed. His eye has a thick 'nakhna' disease. Indeed, he will cure the blind and leprous from birth. He will say: I am your Lord. Whoever says: My Lord is Allah, will have no trial, and whoever says: You are my Lord, will be afflicted by the trial. He will remain among you as long as Allah wills. Then Jesus son of Mary, peace be upon him, will descend. He will confirm Muhammad, peace be upon him, and follow his religion. He will descend as a leader, guide, and just ruler and will kill the Dajjal."

❀ Aws bin Aws, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
ينزل عيسى ابن مريم عند المنارة البيضاء شرقي دمشق
"Jesus son of Mary, peace be upon him, will descend near the eastern white minaret of Damascus."

❀ Imran bin Husain, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
لا تزال طائفة من أمتي على الحق ظاهرين على من ناواهم حتى يأتى أمر الله تبارك وتعالى وينزل عيسى ابن مريم عليهما السلام
"A group of my nation will always remain steadfast on the truth, and whoever opposes them will be overcome until the command of Allah comes and Jesus son of Mary, peace be upon him, descends."

These were the hadiths narrated regarding the descent of Jesus, peace be upon him, which are conclusive, authentic, hasan maqbul (good and accepted), marfu' (attributed to the Prophet), and connected narrations. These hadiths are narrated from the following companions, may Allah be pleased with them: Abu Hurairah, Kaysan, Abdullah bin Amr, Majma' bin Jariyah, Aisha, Nawas bin Sam'an, Hudhayfah bin Asid al-Ghifari, Hudhayfah bin Yaman, Abdullah bin Mas'ud, Samrah bin Jundub, Jabir bin Abdullah, Abdullah bin Abbas, Abdullah bin Mughaffal, Aws bin Aws, Thawban, Imran bin Husain, may Allah be pleased with them.
Besides these hadiths, there are other hadiths of similar meaning narrated from these companions and others, but we have confined ourselves to these. According to the principles of hadith, these narrations are mutawatir in wording and meaning because hundreds of Tabi'in and then the followers of the Tabi'in narrated these narrations from these companions, may Allah be pleased with them. If one hadith is authentic, it is sufficient for affirmation and action, but when such a large number of companions narrate it, then no rational person can reject that hadith.
