Rukūʿ (bowing) is one of the essential pillars of Salah. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ has clearly emphasized its correct execution, and a number of authentic narrations describe its precise manner.
Sayyidunā Abū Masʿūd al-Anṣārī رضي الله عنه narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"That prayer is not sufficient in which a person does not straighten his back in Rukūʿ and Sujūd."
[Ṣaḥīḥ: Ṣaḥīḥ Abū Dāwūd: 761; Kitāb al-Ṣalāh: Bāb Ṣalāh man lā yuqīm Ṣulbah...; Abū Dāwūd: 855; Tirmidhī: 265; Nasā’ī: 2/183; Ibn Mājah: 870; Dārimī: 1/304; Aḥmad: 4/112; ʿAbd al-Razzāq: 2856; Ibn Khuzaymah: 591]

✔ The palms should rest firmly on the knees.
[Muslim: 498; Bukhārī: 828]

“Place your palms on your knees and spread your fingers apart.”

During Rukūʿ, the Prophet ﷺ:
✔ Gripped his knees firmly,
✔ And kept his elbows away from his sides.
