Fear and Its Related Commands

① Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه narrates, I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم say:
من خاف أدلج ، ومن أدلج بلغ المنزل ، ألا إن سلعة الله غالية ، ألا إن سلعة الله الجنة
"The person whose heart is filled with fear starts his (righteous) journey early in the night (i.e., promptly), and the one who starts his journey early is the one who reaches the destination. Listen! The provision of Allah is precious and expensive, listen! Indeed, the provision of Allah is Paradise."
Reference: Tirmidhi, Book of the Description of the Resurrection, Softening of Hearts, and Piety from the Messenger of Allah 2450, the narration is Hasan.

② Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik رضي الله عنه narrates that the Prophet Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
يقول الله تعالى : أخرجوا من النار من ذكرني يوما أو خافني فى مقام
"Allah Almighty will say: Whoever remembered Me even for one day or feared Me at any moment, take him out of the Fire."
Reference: Tirmidhi, Book of the Description of the Resurrection, Softening of Hearts, and Piety from the Messenger of Allah 2594, this narration is weak, in its chain Mubarak bin Fudala is a narrator who is a mudallis and he narrates through 'an'.

③ Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik رضي الله عنه narrates that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم came to a young man near death and asked him:
كيف تجدك؟
"What do you think about yourself?"
He said: O Messenger of Allah! I hope for Allah's mercy and forgiveness and I also fear my sins. Then the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
لا يجتمعان فى قلب عبد فى مثل هذا الموطن إلا أعطاه الله ما يرجو ، وآمنه مما يخاف
"At this moment, when two things (fear and hope) gather in the heart of the servant, Allah grants him what he hopes for and grants him safety from what he fears."
Reference: Tirmidhi, Book of the Description of the Resurrection, Softening of Hearts, and Piety from the Messenger of Allah 983, Ibn Majah, Book of Zuhd 4261, the narration is Hasan.

④ Sayyiduna Ibn Abi Mulaikah رضي الله عنه states: I met thirty companions of the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم who participated in the Battle of Badr. They all feared hypocrisy in themselves and were not fearless about their religion by any trick or device, and none of them said that he was in the state of faith like Jibril عليه السلام.
Reference: Bukhari 1/135, the narration is Mu'allaq.

Fear of Allah Almighty

① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amr Ansari رضي الله عنه that one day he said to Sayyiduna Hudhaifah رضي الله عنه: Will you tell us what you heard from the Messenger of Allah He said: I heard you say:
"A person's time of death approached, and when he became hopeless of life, he advised his family that when I die, collect a lot of wood for me and set it on fire. And when the fire consumes my flesh and reaches my bones, and they too burn to coal, then grind it and do not let it see a windy day, and throw that (ash) into the river." So they did as he said. Then Allah gathered him and asked him why he did that. He said: Because of Your fear. So Allah forgave him.

Instructions Regarding Humility

① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin Aas رضي الله عنهما that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم used to supplicate:
اللهم إني أعوذ بك من قلب لا يخشع ، ومن دعاء لا يسمع ، ومن نفس لا تشبع ، ومن علم لا ينفع ، أعوذ بك من هؤلاء الأربع
"O Allah! I seek refuge in You from a heart that does not fear, a supplication that is not heard, a soul that is never satisfied, and knowledge that is not beneficial. I seek Your protection from these four things."

Avoidance of Extremism is Necessary
