The Command to Marry
① Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
يا معشر الشباب من استطاع منكم الباءة فليتزوج فإنه أغض للبصر وأحصن للفرج ، ومن لم يستطع فعليه بالصوم فإنه له وجاء
"O group of young people! Whoever among you is able to marry, let him marry, for it restrains the gaze and preserves chastity. And whoever is not able to marry, let him fast, for fasting diminishes sexual desire."

Commands Regarding Accepting Invitations
① Sayyiduna Nafi’ رحمه الله states, I heard Sayyiduna Ibn Umar رضي الله عنهما narrating that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
أجيبوا هذه الدعوة إذا دعيتم
“When you are invited, accept the invitation.”

The narrator states that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar رضي الله عنهما used to attend every invitation, whether it was a wedding or otherwise, even if he was fasting.
② Sayyiduna Jabir رضي الله عنه states, the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
إذا دعي أحدكم إلى طعام فليجب فإن شاء طعم وإن شاء ترك
“When any one of you is invited to a meal, he should accept the invitation. Then if he wishes, he may eat there, and if he wishes, he may not eat.”

Blessing Prayer for the Person Getting Married
① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas رضي الله عنه that when the Prophet Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم saw the effect of saffron (yellow color) on Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Awf رضي الله عنه, he said:
ما هذا؟
"What is this?"
He replied: I have married. The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
بارك الله لك أولم ولو بشاة
"May Allah bless you, hold a Walimah even if it is with just one goat."

② It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه that when a man got married, the Prophet Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم would say:
بارك الله لك وبارك عليك وجمع بينكما فى خير
"May Allah bless you and bless upon you and bring you both together in goodness and well-being."
