The Abandoned Supplication After Witr

Neglected Sunnahs:

There are certain Sunnahs that have been abandoned by the general public due to negligence or lack of knowledge. Esteemed Abu Rayyan Naeem-ur-Rehman (from Chichawatni) has put great effort into compiling these neglected Sunnahs. This selection from his unpublished book is being presented for the readers. [Afzal Akbar Kashmiri]

Saying "Subhan al-Malik al-Quddus" three times in a loud voice after giving Salam in the Witr prayer is a Sunnah that has been abandoned.

The evidence for this beloved practice of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is found in the hadith narrated by Sayyiduna (Ibn) Abza (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Ubayy ibn Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him). They said that indeed, when the Prophet (peace be upon him) completed the Witr prayer by saying Salam, he would say "Subhan al-Malik al-Quddus" three times in a loud voice. In Ahmad's narration, the words "ورفع بها صوته" are included, meaning he raised his voice with this phrase.
