✿ Events of Ihram and Talbiyah by the Noble Prophet ﷺ and His Pure Wives ✿

The incidents of the Prophet ﷺ and his pure wives donning the Ihram and reciting the Talbiyah during Hajj and Umrah have been mentioned in detail in the Hadith literature. In this regard, sayings of the Mothers of the Believers (Ummahat al-Mu'mineen) and the noble Companions are also recorded, offering valuable guidance on this important act of worship.
Authentic Hadiths contain detailed accounts of Sayyidah ʿĀʾishah's (رضي الله عنها) participation in Hajj and ʿUmrah, during which she wore Ihram and recited the Talbiyah aloud.
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ:
"خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَجَّةِ الوَدَاعِ، فَمِنَّا مَنْ أَهَلَّ بِعُمْرَةٍ، وَمِنَّا مَنْ أَهَلَّ بِحَجٍّ وَعُمْرَةٍ، وَمِنَّا مَنْ أَهَلَّ بِحَجٍّ.”
(Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, Kitāb al-Ḥajj, Bāb al-Tamattuʿ wa al-Ifrād wa al-Qirān, Ḥadīth No. 1563)
Translation:
ʿĀʾishah (RA) narrated: "We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the Farewell Pilgrimage. Among us, some entered into Ihram for ʿUmrah, some for Hajj and ʿUmrah together, and others for Hajj alone."
She recited the Talbiyah in accordance with the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ, indicating that the wives of the Prophet also followed this method.
Sayyidah Maymūnah (رضي الله عنها), another wife of the Prophet ﷺ, also donned Ihram and recited the Talbiyah during ʿUmrah. Her practice perfectly mirrored that of the Prophet ﷺ.
"خَرَجَتْ مَيْمُونَةُ بِنْتُ الحَارِثِ فِي حَجَّةِ الوَدَاعِ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَهَلَّتْ بِالعُمْرَةِ."

Translation:
Maymūnah bint al-Ḥārith (RA) went out with the Prophet ﷺ during the Farewell Pilgrimage and entered into Ihram for ʿUmrah.
The Talbiyah of the Prophet ﷺ during Hajj and ʿUmrah is reported in numerous authentic Hadiths. Both the noble Companions and the Prophet’s wives recited this same Talbiyah:
"لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ، لَبَّيْكَ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ، إِنَّ الحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالمُلْكَ، لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ."
(Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, Kitāb al-Ḥajj, Bāb al-Talbiyah, Ḥadīth No. 1549)
Translation:
"Here I am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am. Verily all praise and blessings are Yours, and so is the sovereignty. You have no partner."
The wives of the Prophet ﷺ, such as Sayyidah ʿĀʾishah and Sayyidah Maymūnah (رضي الله عنهن), actively participated in Hajj and ʿUmrah alongside the Prophet ﷺ. They followed his method in donning Ihram and reciting the Talbiyah aloud. This act was performed with deep devotion, reverence, and submission.
The Noble Prophet ﷺ and his pure wives recited the Talbiyah during Hajj and ʿUmrah. This same Talbiyah is narrated from the Companions and the Mothers of the Believers.
