This excerpt is taken from the Arabic book Al-Awamer wal-Nawahi by Sheikh Hussain bin Mubarak Al-Mawsili, whose Urdu translation has been done by Muhammad Sarwar Gohar Sahib under the title Ahkamat o Mamnoaat.

Prohibition of Divination by Throwing Pebbles on the Ground

① Qattan bin Qabisa narrates from his father, I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, say:
العيافة والطيرة والطرق من الجبت
"Flying birds for divination, taking omens, and throwing pebbles on the ground for divination, all these are acts of Satan."
Reference: Abu Dawood, Kitab al-Tibb 3907, Musnad Ahmad, Musnad al-Makkiyyin 579/3 Hadith 15921.

Prohibition of Oppression

① Sayyiduna Abu Musa رضي الله عنه narrates that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
إن الله ليملي للظالم فإذا أخذه لم يفلته
"Allah keeps giving respite to the oppressor, but when He seizes him, He does not let go."
Then the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم recited this verse:
﴿وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَخْذُ رَبِّكَ إِذَا أَخَذَ الْقُرَىٰ وَهِيَ ظَالِمَةٌ ۚ إِنَّ أَخْذَهُ أَلِيمٌ شَدِيدٌ﴾
"The grip of your Lord is such when He seizes the people of a sinful town; indeed, His grip is severe and painful."
Reference: Bukhari, Tafsir al-Qur'an al-Karim 4686, Muslim, Kitab al-Birr wa al-Silah wa al-Adab 2583/61.

② It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha رضي الله عنها that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
من ظلم قيد شبر من الأرض طوقه الله به إلى سبع أرضين
"Whoever unlawfully acquires even a span of land, Allah will put a collar of seven lands around his neck in return."

Prohibition of Divination by Flying Birds

① Qattan bin Qabisa narrates from his father, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say:
العيافة والطيرة والطرق من الجبت
"Taking omens by flying birds, believing in bad omens, and taking omens by throwing pebbles on the ground, all these are acts of Satan."
