① Sayyiduna Sufyan bin Abdullah Al-Thaqafi, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates: I said, O Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him! Tell me something about Islam so that after you, I do not have to ask anyone else about it. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said:
قل آمنت بالله ثم استقم
"Say, I believe in Allah and then remain steadfast upon it."
Reference: Muslim, Al-Iman, Hadith (38/62), Tirmidhi, Kitab al-Zuhd, Hadith (2410)
② Sayyiduna Sufyan, may Allah be pleased with him, also said: I said, O Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him! Give me a command so that I hold firmly to it. He said: Then say, O Allah! I believe in You and then remain steadfast upon it.
I said: O Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him! What are you most afraid of happening to me? Then the Prophet, peace be upon him, held his blessed tongue and said: هذا "From that."
① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Imamah رضي الله عنه that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
من أحب لله، وأبغض لله، وأعطى لله، ومنع لله، فقد استكمل الإيمان
"Whoever loves for the sake of Allah, hates for the sake of Allah, gives for the sake of Allah, and withholds for the sake of Allah, then he has completed his faith."

① Sayyiduna Abu Imamah رضي الله عنه reports that one day the companions of the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم were mentioned to him, and the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
ألا تسمعون؟ ألا تسمعون؟ إن البذاذة من الإيمان
"Have you not heard? Have you not heard that brokenness of spirit is part of faith?"
