What do the scholars of Islam say: If due to lack of space, a person sleeps with his feet towards the Qiblah, will he be sinful?
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu wa-s-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ammā baʿd!
Respecting and honoring the Qiblah is necessary. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ removed an Imām from leading prayer because he had spat in the direction of the Qiblah. (Mishkāt)
However, if out of necessity one stretches his feet towards the Qiblah, then most likely there is no harm in it, provided that there is no intention of disrespect or dishonor in the heart. After all, those performing Ḥajj and ʿUmrah make ṭawāf around the Kaʿbah, and at times their feet also face the Qiblah.
Nevertheless, avoiding this as much as possible is better, because outwardly it reflects an aspect of disrespect.
